@@claymoresteel The only negatives I can say about the R1 are 1 it is slightly heavy. I'm guessing about 5oz, but to be sure you can check the weight on Knife Center or where ever you buy it from. 2 I wish it had G10 scales instead of the nylon but it's the same on the R2 and 3 When unlocking the blade I have to push a little harder on the liner lock than normal. That is characteristic of the knife from what I understand but idk you may experience the same thing with the R2. Ergos are good though and for the money it's a good beater.

I have a Kershaw Select Fire 1920. It costs around $40 on Amazon. The blade is very tough and holds an edge well. It has a swing arm that will hold a standard 1/4" screwdriver bit either as an offset or straight screwdriver. It comes with two flathead and two Philips bits on spring-mounted holders in each handle scale. I've never had one break. There's a ruler on the swing arm that I freely admit is nearly useless, and there's a bottle opener. Oh, and it comes with a FREE pocket clip! I also have a multitool. It's the Nextool Flagship model, with 16 tools. The blade and saw are only fair. It's only said to be "stainless steel" with no type designation, so I have to suspect it's 440C, the cheapest stainless knife steel available, but it sharpens, holds an edge, and the saw will cut a stick, which is all I ever cared about for the saw. The good bits are the needlenose pliers and the scissors. The pliers are quite good, with replaceable jaws for the wire cutter near the hinge. The scissors are quite good, passing the toilet paper test fairly easily. Cutting toilet paper with dull scissors only tears it if anything. The rest of the tools are just usual tools you'd see on any Swiss Army knife or knockoff. The only other bit I like on this tool is the glass breaker. The blade will cut a seat belt, and the glass breaker will break a car window if you need to escape quickly, such as if the car is sinking in deep water. The Select Fire is clipped in my pocket and I use it every day. The Nextool is in my bag, and if I use it twice a year that's a lot. I never got into the Leatherman/Leatherman knockoff habit. But I do appreciate a good knife, and like it even better if it has an extra tool or two on it, just to make it a multitasker. The knife in this video is forgettable.

I have a work sharp and a good leather strop with different grades of compound. If I want to, I can take the bevel down to a mirror polish, but I usually stop with black, green, or yellow, depending on the steel. My favorite knife, a Kershaw Select Fire, is only 8cr13mov steel, but it holds a decent edge and isn't a pain in the butt to sharpen. I don't have to strop it every day to keep it sharp -- once a week to strop, a quick hone with the ceramic plate on the Work Sharp every couple of weeks, and I only hit it with the diamond plates if I've used it hard and the edge is less than I like it. The Japanese ATS8 steel might be a little tougher, and even 440c is better at corrosion resistance, the passivating layer from the chromium content is enough that I've never had a problem with corrosion. I have a Gerber Covert Mini in ATS34, and that's a tad difficult to sharpen, though it does have a higher Rockwell number, and the 14% chromium makes it more corrosion resistant than the Kershaw, but I'm not willing to trade that for the ease in sharpening. In addition to the tabletop Work Sharp, I have a Lansky mini-sharpener in my bag, and have a Work Sharp pocket sharpener that's much better. It has 2 grades of diamond plates, ceramic hone, and even a small strop surface that I keep fresh with black compound. I keep it in an aftermarket hardshell case to keep it clean.

This was, in my opinion, the most inane list of EDC devices I've seen. From the forgettable gadgets to the bad Chinglish descriptions that were probably read verbatim from Amazon...or worse, Banggood. Missing letters, missing words, stilted style...bleah. Was the presenter even human, or was he a voice synthesizer? Not one of those gadgets made me interested in buying one of them. I own a better knife, a better multitool, a better wallet, a better watch. Instead of a tiny and alarmingly thin blanket, I have a Swagman Roll. It's bigger, but it's blanket, sleeping bag, sleeping bag liner, poncho, and shelter tarp. It's made of waterproof nylon with an insulated sandwich backing that takes up very little space, weighs almost nothing, and is very warm in any configuration. The only thing I don't have is a key management system. But if I get one, it'll be a KeySmart. I sort of have one... It organizes my lockpicks, called a Covert Companion. (Yes, it's legal.) Actually, the Nitecore T4K flashlight is a reasonable choice. But most people don't need 4,000 lumens of light. The smaller, less expensive, and just as rugged Nitecore TUP, with turbo mode of only 1,000 lumens, is more useful and costs and weighs less. But more people would be served better with one of the Rovyvon Aurora series on a shot-bead chain around their neck on a small S-Biner clip. I wear an Aurora A7 all the time. It has proven itself to be intensely useful. I hope your other videos are better.

if you followed their advice and bought the things on this list you would have 3 wallets two watches and three multitools, oh and a super important "tactical blanket"

I came to the comments because this comment had to exist. Especially the first part about the idiotic chinglish. I have to assume this was a voice synthesizer reading from a script translated by Google...That said, I'm totally sold on the super-duper tactical blanket.

Why the hell does every company feel the need to put a bottle opener on their items, like " hey you are lost in the woods, could take you days to make it out, but good thing you have a bottle opener with you, for that random bottle that does not twist off you found in the woods just sitting there", I like gagits, even the stupid ones, but I have stopped buying anything with a Bottle opener on it.

Kershaw blur is the best I've owned, it's ugly and bulky but works really well and it's easy to get it razor sharp.

To be honest, in over 30 years of living as a city dweller, I have never needed a knife away from home, that being said, I would like to know what practical or emergency applications it has in an urban setting, to have on my EVERYDAY CARRY BAG.
