9:05 I made it to this part, and nicked the battery. What ensued was completely my fault, but I ended up buying a new phone. I will also be needing a new carpet, as mine is far too charred to give back to the landlord. Just a reminder, take this outdoors if you aren't completely sure you can pull the battery out safely.

Indeed batteries can be very dangerous. Sorry that that happened to you. Blame Motorola down the battery too hard.

What did you use that you nicked the battery?

@timothyAreeves I was using a flathead screwdriver, and gently levering the battery up. It's been awhile since it happened so I can't remember the exact details but absolutely do this outdoors. It burns very fast and very hot hahaha

I just got my repaired by someone in town, and the back wasn’t on tight enough and couple days later I accidentally dropped it in my sink that had very shallow water and was in there for a few seconds before I picked it up and dried it, pressed “restart” instead of “power off” so had to wait for that to finish before powering off and I left it for 2 days and everything works just the picture? Is glitchy. Do you think it’d be worth it to repair it? Thank you!

Sure, but its glued for life! If you have a issue, impossible to remove without breaking it off.

Acetone/nail polish remover and a credit card (starting from top) makes removal a breeze. I didn't even need heat.

90% Iso Alcohol is your friend.

Do not heat up battery! Use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol, give few minutes to act on phone. Left bottom evenly slightly, add little fluid as necessary. Be patient and battery will lift out easily with minimum damage.
