What a great tutorial, with a lot of pratical resolutions to difficult sections. Most people don't undertand that a couple or years ago you had to pay hundreds ir not thousands to assisti or participate in masterclasses with great pianists that would givf advices like this. Such a shame you didn't work work on the full Movement, I would need Help with some of the sections with this Movement. Congratulations on your extremely precious content!

great! :) another question, I'm polishing Chopins ballade 1 and etude op. 10 No.1 right now and wonder what would be the most effective path (selection) of pieces to practice until I'd be technically ready for rachmaninoff 2 and 3? thank you very much

If you’re able to play these pieces without issues, you are well equipped for Rachmaninoff 2. It’s overall not tricky except for a few spots like this one. The only thing is it’s size and specifics of the genre, playing concerto is different from playing middle size solo pieces. I would probably first learn a couple of early Beethoven concerti and for example Grieg concerto. Rach 3 … well if you can master anything else, then you can master this concerto 😂

@@DenZhdanovPianist lol thanks for the quick reply :) do you recommend going through all chopin etudes in general as well or is that something keeping non-professionals (like myself) distracted from progression towards the rach concerto? I only have 1-2 hours at best per day to practice :/

If you can practice only that much, the most important is not to be hard on yourself. If you want to play this kind of repertoire on a close-to-professional level, you’d better practice 4-6 hours a day, starting from at least age of 10, and of course finding a good teacher.

But generally speaking, it’s more reasonable to establish a good base, by playing many smaller pieces that would allow you to build different skills (each etude or a smaller piece allows you to master a certain technical/musical skill without being overwhelmed by the size of a piece, that’s why etudes are short), and then, being well-equipped, approach larger pieces like such concerti.
