Thanks from Russia. I have just finished reading the book and was pleased to find your thorough review. I totally agree with your overall impression. It´s been a tough read, I guess my colleague and I, we have been struggling through for several months, but there are quite a few rewards. The video´s really interesting, just as your blog. Subscribing) UPD And I can totally relate to the Grammar-Translation-based learning experience providing nice foundation for futher language progres. It's definitely been so for my languages.

Yes, agreed. It's got a really boring-sounding title (and cover). But once you actually get into it, it's written in a very readable and engaging style

Unfortunately I can't help with this. The copy I used was from my school's library. I don't know where you could find a soft copy online. Sorry.
