I use the prophet 5. let's see how this goes and i will edit this towards the end of the vid. edit: halfway in and i do shit like this all the time because i make weird shit (i get compared to AFX often) and i am so happy you've shown people how to make new sounds from sounds they are familiar with. Top marks again, you are one of the best on this platform at this.

Oscar’s paid stuff is great. I’m not really into techno but I’ll end up buying his course just to learn the techniques.
@dema46692 жыл бұрын
@@stuartleighton Getting it for the sound design lessons alone is worth more than gold! That is what I am lacking at this point. Basic production - check, can create full tracks? check...signed by labels? check... leveling up to get signed by my favorite labels? That is where Oscar's classes will help me! ♥
@stuartleighton2 жыл бұрын
@@dema4669 I use a combination of Underdog Music School, You Suck at Producing, and Seed to Stage. Have their paid stuff and about to get private lessons from Tim at ‘You Suck’. All three are a treasure trove of fantastic content, and have helped speed up my music production output. It’s a pity Oscar no longer does Bootcamps as I’d have definitely joined one, despite the large time difference (I’m in Shanghai). Did you sign up for techno course? If so let me know what you think of it. The Foundations course was cool, and I’d snap up a more intermediate / advanced course for sure.
@dema46692 жыл бұрын
@@stuartleighton I did sign up for the techno course and it is fantastic! Well worth the money and is the exact genre I am producing. Been watching his stuff for a while now, and finally signed up. I will check out the other channels you mentioned too, thanks!

I might try this today to add to my new acid house track. Even if it turns out shitty, which I'm sure it won't, it'll be a value learning experience especially working with LFO's which I haven't done much of. Then I might deep dive into Europa. Any chance of an in-depth tutorial into Europa, Oscar? Great tutorial once again!

It's funny, as an old school industrial devotee I found myself thinking that the version with pitch tracking reminded me a lot of Twitch era Ministry and Adrian Sherwood's amazing production. Back then it was a Fairlight sampling some weird sound.

I didn’t catch that until reading your comment. Definitely sounds like some sounds you would hear in the Twitch album.

Nope it's in the subscription! Use the link in the description for a discount too!

Very interesting how, having taken the tonal element away, the product should have such an obvious pitch. Just the one sample could generate so many potentially useful sounds. Wild.

Hey Osc(aaaaaaar)! You advised me last year to make use of the 90day free trial of Ableton (which I did). I never fully made the jump, as I'd just recently paid out £500 for Cubase 11 Pro. Well, I'm going to be making that jump now. The 'dongle' which Cubase 11 was reliant on BROKE, and Steinberg are refusing to replace my license, despite it being registered. All they offered me was 25hours of 'zero downtime' until they gave me the bad news. Its an insult. For Ableton to give you 90 days DONGLE free use of Live 11SUITE, and for Steinberg to give 25 hours to a paid up customer is, in my mind, disgusting. Anyway, thank s for the info back then, as it made it easy for me to turn away from Steinberg. Keep up the good work, and congratulations on the growing success of underdog on KZbin.

What an ordeal! I think DAWs really should be focusing on growing their market share, not on maximising profits like in your case... The longterm survival of DAWs relies on them being used...

Any chance there is a similar device for Ableton? Don’t wanna buy Reason just for this, but it’s tempting for sure. But Reason also has a very nice granular module which works well for what I do. Hmmm
