Also, hearing that loud beeping sound for a whole hour can't have been good for Wilbur's concentration, so he might've done even better in the later games if it weren't for the alarm.

I agree. Plus Wilbur had been training with Techno for the event whereas Phil hadn't been since he didn't think he'd be in it. And other than the one round they lost, Pink absolutely dominated in battle box with the MVPs being Techno followed by Solidarity in terms of kills so I disagree that Wilbur would've caused them to perform worse in that event.

I don't really think that's entirely true. I think Pink would've won, yeah - but even when Wilbur's doing well, his PVP is his greatest weakness. He resorts to spamclicking a lot, especially often in Battle Box. Phil knows the 1.16 combat mechanics a lot better. As a team of 4 I don't see there being a massive difference between if it was Wilbur or Phil, but the difference in PVP ability is still rather substantial.

Honestly, I think one of the most impressive parts of Pink Parrots' performance was how hard Wilbur and Philza worked to keep the stream PG in deference to Grian's request. That's impressive, no matter how you look at it. Of course, I think the biggest win of basically the entire event was the community beating out KZbin in donations. Petty though it might be, it just feels so good to show up a big corporation. No matter who won the event, the biggest victory was the main goal of the event all along.

There's a lot more things that could have decreased pink's coins rather than increase.. Because the only thing that could potentially increase is philza taking wilbur's place arguably getting more coins than wilbur in battle box but what decrease their points are: -Wilbur was afk 3 rounds in parkour tag which increases their points by at least 30 -after he joins back the alarm is still going and potentially made wilbur less focus -and sadly.. The hole in the wall bug really increased orange's coins

@@medearoxas7819 As someone who watched Pink more than once (watched Grian and then Techno a few hours later), I remember how in the mega chicken swap, all four of them (and only them) went into survival games, and Wilbur joked about “showing their hand”. But besides a lot of people wanting survival games to be worth more anyways, I’m sure some teams had a sort of thought process that like “pink wants survival games now, which means they’re not as confident in it and want it out of the way. If we stall it as long as possible, we may be able to overtake them”

At the start of his stream, Techno stated the main goals of the event were to raise money for charity, and have fun, and boy did he deliver on both those fronts. It was hella fun, and with his community and himself raising basically a third of the total donations, I'd say that's a win.

All I'm saying is that if the Australian's didn't have a geographical advantage in Hole in the Wall, Pink would have got into dodgebolt. On another note, I've noticed that Wilbur is more driven to play MCC when playing with Techno so I really think that Wilbur might have done just as good as Phil. If the fire alarm wouldn't have gone off I feel like the only change in BB would've been that Techno would have gotten first individual (for BB) because the reason Phil got so many kills was because he was cleaning up with his bow where as Techno and Solidarity were doing the most damage, Pink might have ended up losing to Aqua if they had Will though.

Ahhh I'm so glad you mentioned MCC7 because it is to this day one of my favourite if not my favourite MCC I loved the team dynamic so much it was so fun! If you watch other perspectives, the other teams also had so many moments they could've done better and got more points. If they done the MCC with the same teams again without the fire alarm, there's still a chance pink don't get in the dodgebolt

The thing about the fire alarm that gives me a bad taste is that it was out of their control. Pink could have gotten enough points for DB through an army of small factors, some of which you already mentioned, but for the most part those factors were at least somewhat controllable on their part, not noticing the wrong block placement was on techno, and not doing better in BB tgttos and sg was simply a matter of skill, something they could hone and improve upon before mcc. If the fire alarm didnt happen and pink still lose by two points. People probably would still be sad, but for me at least it would be explainable, orange and aqua (who were quite good in their right despite new players) simply had outperform them. Pink perhaps just didnt practice as much or was too confident. There can be explanations to why they lost. The fire alarm was an unexpected factor, and an uncontrollable factor. The admins couldnt have prepare for it and Wilbur couldn't just ignore it, and while it might not have mattered anyway, you could also argue the contrary. The uncertainty of that also adds to pain through the thoughts of "what if". All the other mistakes can be explained, but whether or not the fire alarm caused them to lose will always be mcc's biggest what if, and that probably the main reason it just stings so much.

I think it’s also important to not that Pearl (in orange ocelots) lives in Australia so when she was playing hole in the wall her ping allowed her to phase through a lot of walls. Obviously as we’ve learnt with the hbomb thing we can’t change this glitch but she was able to get significantly more points for her team because of this and that contributed to that team getting into dodgebalt

very good video ! i like this analysis of pink and what could have made up those last few points. a few things i've noticed though is that yeah while we dont know what would have happened if pink had gotten to dodgebolt, it's still possible illumina "I CAN ONLY REVERSE SWEEP" HD could have beaten them! orange also had a really good showing and absolutely earned their dodgebolt spot. while the event could have turned out different if wilbur's building didn't burn down, illumina and the rest of the aqua axolotls absolutely crushed (especially kreek!!! 4th indiv!!!) and they deserved that gay coin! especially since illumina and gizzy might have committed a minecraft murder otherwise.

uh oh (I am easily influenced) this was a really good video! I like that someone broke it down like this - I've seen multiple posts on reddit talking about this and that where pink could've gained/lost coins, but I like this format, because it's not blaming anyone and it's mostly celebrating the best parts of MCC while mourning with another team. I think your being a proper MCC nerd while also being in the event really makes these videos shine. Keep up the great work!

I’ve been thinking though, let’s say the whole fire alarm thing still happened and Wilbur still afked , phil still subbed for him, everything went the same, BUT if the other teams actually played it fair and tagged afk Wilbur last in parkour tag or at least not first, pink would’ve secured the win. The fire alarm might not have been the actual problem, it’s that one round of parkour tag that changed the tides.

I think you said that well, Noxcrew did what they could to give them a little bit of time while still making their event run fairly smooth. I mean when you look back on every other MCC I'm sure you can argue how by something dumb happening a team might have lost their dodgebold spot. You can always argue that another team would have won had the order of the games been different or had they survived some more seconds in a specific game and stuff like that...it was just extra unfortunate in that instance because it wasn't Will's fault at all and nobody could have really done anything to prevent that. I also believe that as you said Will could have had bad luck in the games so the score actually also could have been worse...or anything really. So yeah at the end it is what it is and Orange deserved their spot in the top two, as they did really good!

honestly i think their team wouldve won if the fire alarm didnt happen because the fire made them lose a few points in that game of tag then they had to get a replacement and then that fire alarm when wilbur got back just beeping for like an hour or something probably distracted him from the game if it had turned on even one round later they would have gotten into dodgebolt

And the other plays during parkour tag just really HAD to tag Wilbur first despite pink stating not to since he was afk, I’m not blaming the other teams but it’s just frustrating since if Wilbur was tagged last pink would’ve made it to dodge bolt.

I think that Wilbur not being afk could have made a difference, but it could not have made a difference. You see the thing is, Philz’s preformance in battle box was amazing, but if Wilbur was not afk he would have had to do battle box and that might have lost the pink parrots the event. Just a thought

Honestly, every game (apart from maybe ace race) could have gone differently for Pink and allowed them to get the coins needed to get into Dodgebolt. If they spawned next to weaker teams in Round 2 of Sky Battle, if Pearl didnt lag through any of the walls in HITW or if any member of Pink maybe got through a few more walls, if Techno didn't make the build in BSABM one block off, if Wilbur's fire alarm didnt go off in Parkour Tag or if Muselk tagged him a few seconds later, if they got a kill on Lime during Battle Box, if Wilbur didnt have the fire alarm definately somewhat distracting him in TGTTOS, and if TapL didnt get the kill on Techno in SG, or if Techno outsurvived some of orange, or if Aqua and Orange just didnt get as many points as they did in SG. Honestly, there are so many different posilities for the 2-coin loss, and no one moment can really stand out above the rest, because there were just so many different outcomes where Pink got into dodgebolt

The thing that gets me is during Survival Games Illumina (Aqua) was killing Techno and TapL (Orange) got the final hit off Overall, pink aqua and orange all played well, and the tough competition made the event even more entertaining It was a great performance from everyone!

It didn’t matter that they lost to me, I had so much fun watching their POVs and interactions. I was hopping from Solidarity’s to Grian’s to Techno’s POV the whole event. Also Solidarity did really well in the event, people were very sceptical about his performance before the event but Jimmy did really well. He’s just a very good team player.

If the fire alarm had ended before the pause this is what I'd think would have happened. Parkour Tag: They dominate like normal, And wilbur even gets a full survival against Muselk (Cyan Creepers) Go against the Blue Bats as a hunter and get to 40 seconds against Lime. Battle Box: 7-2 lost to Aqua and Lime and the rest as usual. They win against Orange and get to Dodgebolt. And then Win against Aqua.

Man everyone who was hoping pink parrots to get in dodgebolt was so pissed when they saw 2 points away from second place and tapl joined the vc just to add salt to the wound. Note:Really cool aqua won ppl didn't think that they would get into dodgebolt and win it not even the ppl participating in the event thought they would win during dodgebolt the only teams who picked aqua to win was green guardians and cyan creepers the only teams did want aqua to win the others picked Orange to win.

Should've won? No. Could've? Yes. Should've been in dodge bolt? Yes. Would they have been if Wilbur was there and not afk? Yes. IF the last team to go against Pink would have gone after AFKbur last in parkour tag and everything else played out as it did Pink would have been in Dodgebolt. But thankfully this was a "Non-Canon" MCC. I think comments of Wilbur being alive should be promoted. I think them waiting to find out if Wil could return and when that time lapsed and it seemed like Wil wouldn't at least for a game it was great to see them more willing to allow Philza to come in so Scott and the tournament organizers should be commended. Philza should also be commended for being an adult who is more than capable of jumping in for only one game round, last minute due to emergency. Like the situation was handled the best it could be by practically all parties involved it just stung real hard for fans and maybe them that they missed dodgebolt by 2 points.

I think Pink should’ve won. Wilbur obviously would’ve gotten at least 3 coins in Parkour Tag but the main argument us would Wilbur have gotten the same amount of coins as Phil in Battle Box. I genuinely think that he could. The team morale was really high and team morale always boosts team performance and Wilbur definitely could’ve gotten kills. Also, there are loads of other ways they could’ve gotten at least 3 coins. I’m not angry though. Really hyped for MCC15 :D! At the end of the day, lots of money was raised for charity and that was the entire premise! Edit: Another point people aren’t talking about is that the fire alarm was probably really off putting for Wilbur and he might’ve done better if it wasn’t there.
