I'm a tech enthusiast myself, and I have handpicked each component in my system but as much as I'd love to, I no longer have enough time to keep up with all the technological advancements at the speed that they are happening nowadays. Your work helps me in that direction tremendously. Thanks for the great insight. Good job as always.

@Aukerai
@Aukerai 10 жыл бұрын
William Kendrick You purchase a pop filter, and place it in front of your microphone, taking care that it doesn't touch the microphone (otherwise some vibrations will be transferred, lessening the effect). It's not hard. If you want to ghetto it, a piece of stocking or pantyhose stretched over say - a cardboard tube that's bigger than the surface area of the mic does the trick almost as well as a professional solution. All it does is deaden the explosive air pressure of puh, buh, etc sounds, so that it doesn't cause clipping. This is because a microphone's diaphragm is a sensitive mechanical device that vibrates back and forth. (this is even more so the case with condenser microphones than dynamic microphones) the cloth windshield covering a microphone (this is present on say, the Shure SM-58, although that uses a metal windshield) is not enough to prevent all popping sounds, and is mainly designed for it's namesake, to prevent wind from interfering with the sound. It also protects the mic by preventing saliva from reaching the microphone, which is typically slightly corrosive, and damaging to a microphone. )

If memory serves (and it usually does) the ATX sized motherboards are the same size as the original IBM PC-XT Motherboards. I built more machines of that form factor than I care to count having worked for 3 different clone manufacturers "back in the day" I'm kinda surprised that someone doesn't resurrect the original PC-AT sized motherboards with additional slots (or greater slot spacing) to accommodate the massive number of double slot cards.

I am decreasing sizes of my computers. When I just started my computer-upgrading hobby, I always bought ATX boards and large cases. A couple of years ago I switched to mATX (shame on AMD for not having them with AM3+ socket). I think the next upgrade might be mini-ITX, if I will be able to pick a good enough case+cooling combo for overclocking.

For me, if i want to build an itx pc, i want it sit next to the tv and stream games from my big pc. I think nebula does look better for that. If I want to build an itx pc for actual gaming pc, then 250d is better since it can handle water cooler and bigger graphics card. It really depends on the purpose and personal taste actually. Cooler Master make nice itx cases too. I ordered the CM Elite 110 just under $50 for my itx build since no nebula can be found in my area. Best thing about this case, I can put a seidon 120v in it to cool my A8 6600K

For someone that is currently learning and a total dummies, I really hope that you'd put a in-video captions or an actual subtitle for people with auditory-based learning problem and more of a visual-learner. My head is experiencing overheating with the auto-generated cc alone. This is so hard for me.

quoting board sizes in mm^2 is incorrect. When you have 170mmx170mm the total area is 28900mm^2

From what I've seen, Mini ITX tends to be more expensive than Micro ATX, probably because they need to have more features built in.
