I’ve had a D3 for a while and cleans up everything. It has no go lines, returns to base and never gets stuck. You do have to empty the bin but that’s the only negative. I did upgrade the filter and got the larger battery but other than that it’s stock. I’ve had mine for about 3 years. Best $199 I have ever spent.

Have it and works flawlessly right now. Even as I write it's heading back to base for a recharge and will finish up later. It tells me via app to empty bin and has only gotten stuck once and since I nor anyone else was home it got itself out of the jam because it was back at it's base when I got home. Thoroughly happy with the performance.

My D4 did the same thing as your D8 when I bought it. They replaced it pretty quickly and I've had the replacement for 3 years now. I was thinking of replacing it but after seeing this maybe I'll just wait until it dies. Honestly the only feature I'd like that it's missing is a front facing camera for object detection/avoidance.

I used to have the d4 but returned it. It didn’t have a self empty bin, doesn’t have a side brush and it doesn’t know when it’s full. It has the best suction and navigation out of any robot I’ve had. It even picked up stuff that my shark apes left behind

leaving aside iRobot, none have bin sensor so using that as a filter i would say is quite picky for a feature that's not a big deal.

It let's you know via app to empty the bin when full. Side brush is meh. A solid choice.

Is there a chance to review the Neato D7 to see if there's a cleaning difference compared to D4.

I have a very old Neato D80 that works quite well. It broke in 2018 and I bought the D7 model. What a piece of garbage the D7 was. In 13 months it broke down on me and never did clean as well as the D80. The issue with the D80 was with the bumper sensors. They stopped working. I found a seller who was selling new sensors. I bought them for $40 and installed them myself. The battery also needed to be replaced. The robot is working again and going strong. I wish I would have bought 2 D80s. The newer Neato robots don’t appear to have good quality which is a shame because the older models were very good.

I have a Neato D7 and it picks up more than my Deebot N8 Pro +. I was going to buy the D8 but I'm really disappointed in its performance. I wish we knew what was going on with Neato because I felt like they were leading a few years ago.

As I suspected. Neato have really good suction and a large bin. I have an old D75 and it still works great. They are awesome with pet hair on hardwood floors. The downside to Neatos is the software and the production/quality problems they have. Also the puny side-brush is not good so i pair my Neato with an Roomba 880. The 880 side-brush push out all the debris close to walls etc and the Neato sucks it up with its huge bin. Too bad Neato still haven't fixed old software issues to follow walls better and beware since it will eat cables, small stuff gets easily stuck in the bar since its in the front. I have to clean up all cat-toys before each run. Lego and other stuff will get stuck. You get more for your money with an Roborock.

Neato has always had quality issues but they have pioneered LIDAR and clean well. Probably all CEO’s need to get fired and start fresh otherwise the brand will die.

What was that “Extra Clean” option that was in the app? Is that a similar option to the Second Pass option in the iRobot app? Thanks!

That’s the extra care option. My neato d4 is an idiot and backs up in the corners of my house and ruins the baseboards. That option lowers the amount of times and severity of those. Don’t buy this robot, buy the shark ai or the roomba i3 for the same price.

I have the D3, got it in 2017 and it’s still going! That thing has been through hell but yet it still cleans great! Just goes to show how crappy Neato made the new D8. Have had minor issues with the D3, but over 5 years that’s very impressive.

Yes. Looking for more tests on the Neabot Q11. I went ahead and ordered it to get the 30% off. From the videos I have seen, it looks pretty impressive. My Roborock S6 MaxV doesn’t quite avoid those small toys my kids leave on the floor. I think this one will. Looking forward to the gauntlet for this robot.
