I’ve tried a iRobot Roomba and the Neato and the Neato is so much better🌼 I have 2 black labs that shed like crazy and the Neato is great at picking up dog hair. And if you like straight vacuum lines the Neato is the vacuum for you. The Roomba was so sporadic in how it cleaned, going from one end of the house to the other like a pinball, never completing a room. The Neato breaks each room down before going to the next. Highly recommend.

If you come across issues connecting to wifi after buying a refurbished d3, try clearing the robot of the prevously stored wifi information. You can do this by pushing the bumper to the right while shutting it off. Turn it on again and try pairing

I’ve had the D3 for a few moths now and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I previously had a Euphy but it wasn’t a smart bot and I wanted no go lines. This little bot picks up everything, is great on hardwood floors and rugs and has a large bin. The only negative is its loudness but I’ve turned it into a Positive as my neighbor below me is an asshole and I’ll run it late at night when I’m out of town. Love this little bot, even named it after my gold digger, do nothing girlfriend.

Thanks. Your reviews are great. I love the way you put all the vacuums through though tests and measure air flow etc. I've noticed that even the Neato bots which is supposed to be really smart also tend to push around the docking station a bit. The Roborock is the only one I've seen so far that does not do this, it seems to know where the dock is placed and avoids it. Do you have any plans to review the Roborock S50 ? I'd love to watch a proper review on that one. :)
@VacuumWars6 жыл бұрын
I keep meaning to! I would have included it in this series but the price was just out of the range of (low to mid level) at least the S5. Currently I think its the only vacuum I need to test to feel like I really have a handle on the current state of robot vacuums. That being said I plan on moving on from robot for a few months after this series is done, so though I will get to it eventually it wont be for a while.

Indeed, a review of the Roborock would be nice. I can't seem to find any proper video reviews on it. Android headlines has a nice one, where they put it up against the Roomba 980, but it's from when it first came out, so the firmware and the app is quite outdated.

I just saw the Neato D3 Pro is on sale at Walmart for 273, since everything is interchangeable. I might get it and then upgrade the brush, Filter and the battery at my convenience. Do I really need the side brush? I was looking at the D7 but the D3 has just as much suction power and at such a good price.

I have this and the Roomba 960. This is vastly superior in terms of cleaning, looks (in my opinion), navigation and not getting stuck. It is vastly inferior in terms of maintenance. The brush roll has to be replaced whereas the rollers on the Roomba last MUCH longer and are MUCH easier to clean. If I had to pick one I’d go with the Neato.

Great review! I have one question though. Does Neato work without its docking station? When you put Roomba 900 or Powerbot in a new room without its base, they go through a whole house and then go back to starting point. Does Neato work the same way or does it always require a docking station?
@VacuumWars5 жыл бұрын
It works without the charging station but if you want to use it for difference levels of the house and remember the map you will need two stations.

@@rer1967 Welp - I ended up buying the D3 and this thing is amazing lol. Sometimes (1/5 times) it doesn't make it all the way back to the charger correctly and I think that's because it bounces across some of the ledges too quickly and may get slightly off course. But otherwise, this thing is amazing. SUCH a good feeling coming home and everything perfectly cleaned. Since all the Neatos are pretty much the same hardware wise it makes you wonder if their is any "binning" taking place. Where all the better preforming components go in the higher end models and the lower end modes get the fans and motors that are still good just maybe have minor flaws that keep them from getting the best performance.

The magnetic side brush once came off and I was wondering why my D5 was stuck, until I reached in the rollers wondering what I would find. To my surprise, I found this. My Roombas don’t have this issue, because they use a screw to keep in place. Debatably a good feature on the D5 because of this issue.

Too bad about the lemons from the Neato. Also it doesn't know where its base is while cleaning and knocks it around. I guess drawing a line in the app for it to stay away would be possible, or would that stop it from returning home to the base!

how much of a step can this climb? i'm looking for something that can climb about 2 cm or a step, as there is some height difference from my livingroom to the hallway
@jarls58905 жыл бұрын
2cm should be doable. But not much more. One thing you can do is to put a (stiffish) doormat over the step/threshold that gives the robot a "bridge" to pass from one room to the other if it cant get over as it is. I bought a D3 last week and I am super happy. I considered the D4 up to the D7 but I cant really see much point to the more expensive models as they are nearly identical. Same motors, same brush, same bin, same navigation, same app. You DO get better filters - but the filters are cheap and you can put the higher end filters in the D3. On some of the models you do get a bigger battery - but I seem to have read that you can actually buy the bigger battery and put in the D3 (I need to check this further). So what you get on the D5 and higher models is the side brush - and tests show that that side brush dont do much. And I found the D3 for 299,- so it was a no-brainer to me. I also considered the S5/s50 but to me the D3 seems better.

Nice video as always. As others said, I'd love too a review of the Roborock S50. Anyway, a small thing: doesn't the Roborock Xiaowa E25 map too? Other than the Samsung and Neato in this series I mean. Yeah you cannot interact with the map like you can on the one of S50 and other robots with laser navigation, but I think it does have the "recharge and resume cleaning" 🤔 It
@VacuumWars6 жыл бұрын
Good point. I didnt mention that recharge and resume of the E25 since I couldnt be sure. I saw some suggestion of it in the user review comments but not in the official literature. It didnt have a camera or a laser so I was hesitant to say. But based on the user reviews I would say it does have recharge and resume even though it doesnt have a camera or laser
@matteventu6 жыл бұрын
@@VacuumWars if I'm not wrong, it has an additional optical sensor on the bottom (that Roomba, Shark and others don't have) that helps it to trace the path (in addition to the odometer that calculates the space it travels). The official website of Roborock E25 says that however the "recharge and resume" of the E25 and E35 works for a maximum of two times per cleaning cycle (vs unlimited for the Xiaomi Mi Vacuum and Roborock S50 that have the laser).

Has the Neato D3 /D3 Pro proven to be an ultimately better robot vacuum than the D4? Online store reviews seem to be less than impressive for all of the Neatos and I don't understand why that is but at this point I'm just trying to figure out why the D4, which is supposed to be a slightly better vacuum, is being sold cheaper than the the D3 Pro right now on Best Buy. The only thing that sets them apart is the D4 having the Eco and Turbo setting where as the D3 Pro has just the one so it would seem the D4 would be more expensive and yet it's $100.00 cheaper. Does the D4 model have problems that the D3 Pro is lacking? I've read of some wifi connectivity issues with the Neatos but that seems to be a problem for all of them. Based on test reviews I went ahead and purchased a D4 model since it was cheaper than the D3 Pro and at $299.00, is cheaper than anywhere else at this point. My biggest concern is why is it being sold so much cheaper and should I perhaps go with a more seemingly reliable brand that may not have laser technology?

@cannesahs5 жыл бұрын
Well, I had both S5 and D7 same time and returned D7. D7 tried to climb on walls while backing off and lost location middle of cleaning runs resulting it going inside no-go lines area and bump itself repeatedly against same object for over 15min. Not to mention how often it cant find the base. It is also much noisier, mainly b/c of main brush design. Its 4 small wheels are hard plastic, which might not be so good to floor. It moves furniture often and small carpets when turning in place. One pass cleaning is better on D7, but it cant fit places where S5 can and S5 cleans corners & edges better. S5 has edge following sensor located too high for our local houses.

I'm revisiting this video as it has proven to be mostly correct. But I do take issue with your Samsung jetbot AI plus vacuum review. That vacuum is dumb as a box of rocks. How did you manage to get it clean? Mine leaves the bass turn around several times nothing cleans around 10 ft diameter in erratic way followed up by saying " finish cleaning returning to base". My downstairs is 1300 sq ft. I've had this vacuum cleaner for over 8 months in 90% of the time that's all it does. Sometimes it says " something is stuck in my right wheel". I look and there's NOTHING. At other times it will pronounce loudly it is avoiding an obstacle. NOTHING is around it. I'm starting to have serious doubts about your reviews because you never mentioned any of these flaws. I spent good money on this vacuum snd reset it over a dozen times and nothing will get this Samsung to clean the entire downstairs. But your video makes it look like it's done on the first try. $1500 disappointment. My Neato D3 cleans the entire downstairs. Every. Day. No AI either.
