Thinking about building a pc with all used parts except for the ssd. Rtx 3060, Ryzen 5 3600 and 16gb ddr4 3200 ram. All for about 400cad (300 usd). Is it worth it or should I go for a different combo?love the vids man

Hey tech source I’ve been a fan for a while I love watching ur videos I don’t have discord so this is the only way I can reach out to you ik u probably won’t see this comment but I was wondering if u could build my dream pc for me bc the one I have right now has integrated graphics and I only run 80 fps on my game so I was just wondering u don’t have to do it for me but it would make my day.

Open box items are a gamble, but when you get a good item. So worth the savings. I bought my 4070 S open box at best buy in March for 450 usd, and got my OLED monitor for 410 open box when it was a grand MSRP. If you can get an open box deal, i would take it. I still look for open box deals when possible.
@TechSourceАй бұрын
Agreed! Nice deals!

i picked up an OLED monitor for $400 open box too earlier this year, ive also been slowly purchasing components with quite a few being open box, unfortunately i am taking a slight gamble as i cant test if any of them actually work but i bought a 7800x3d for $289, a gigabyte b650 for $140, and a 4tb samsung 990 pro for $230

They price match pretty much every vendor on pc partpicker if you show them a webpage with the same item (model # and/or serial # must match) at a lower price at checkout.

The only reason I have a 4070TI is because it was open box. At the time they were like $800ish, but open box and it was the MSI Ventus 3x version which had some "manufacturing defects" so it was $500. The manufacturing defect? Some of them came out with a bent backplate (it actually extends to the heatsink in some of them). Has never affected performance that I've found, but it meant for a while there you could find Ventus 3x that were open box marked way down because people would buy them, see the slight curve and freak, get a refund, and then the next guy or gal gets a pretty decent savings on a 4070TI that doesn't look quite right, but works just fine.

I got an open Box 2024 Asus ROG strix scar 18 for $1799 and it’s normally $2999. Manufactured September 2024, so I still have September 2025 with the warranty and windows was installed in October and returned within 30 days. It’s literally brand new with not a mark on it. I bought it in December as an open box and bought a one year accidental warranty, so I have nothing to worry about. It’s an absolute monster. I9 14900HX, 408012gb(175w), 2.5k mini LED nebula display 240hz 1100nits 16/10 aspect ratio, 32 GB of DDR5 5600mhz, 1tb gen4, 90whr battery, in the box with everything. Best deal ever.

So just had to put $350 for that 7900 xtx and I'm having no issues at all. Just ran some stress test when i got it to make sure it was good and it was.

I work at Best Buy and sometimes they mark an open box down as much as possible and because of that the condition shows “poor” for example even though it’s actually in excellent condition. They do this so they can get rid of inventory at times and give customers a good price. I’m guessing Micro Center has a similar process and reasoning.

I got some Kanto Ora speakers open box from Micro Center for 122 bucks. The box had like 5 yellow stickers stacked on top of it lol so I'm sure the price just kept going down and down every month. They were brand new lol I saw nothing wrong with them just some fingerprints of the previous owner prob taking them out and putting them back into the box. They were 349.99 at the time. He's not wrong, don't sleep on open box you guys its worth most of the time.

So from a country that doesn't have open box, these items are returns from customers who for whatever reason, don't want what they purchased? Okay, got it. Any open box savings in Australia are sucked up by the retailer. IE Consumers don't get to see those savings. All done though I got a similar spec'd PC build with 2 extra Noctua fans, double your memory, triple your storage, a 5" sensor screen all for AU$400 more. Another way of looking at your terrific deal is that US$1863 converted to our dollars is AU$3024 so I did pretty good in the land of the ripoff.
