@deckenciumdecross3422 Color accuracy: IPS displays can produce more accurate colors than other types of displays. They can show 256 shades of each primary color, which is more natural than the 64 shades per primary color shown by TN monitors. Wide viewing angles: IPS displays can be viewed from almost any angle and still produce an accurate image. They have a viewing range of up to 178 degrees. Improved contrast: IPS displays have better contrast than some other display types. Fast response times: IPS displays have fast response times. Direct sunlight visibility: IPS displays deliver higher quality images in sunny conditions than other display types. Energy-saving features: IPS monitors have energy-saving features.

Thank you for you in depth review. I am a 70 year old trying to understand modern TV technology. Question: when a TV spec says it has Blutooth, does that mean it can send the audio to my Blutooth headphones? Or is that only so it can receive Blutooth from say my laptop? I have bad hearing and depend on wireless Blutooth headphones to hear a TV. But my current TV has a headphone output and I connect a Blutooth transmitter to that jack. So if this model cannot send the audio to my headphones, does it at least have a headphone jack?

My brother in-law's Samsung had that soap opera effect and I did not like it. @@TechSteve So we don't know what the Apple TV processing and 4k upscaling is doing vs what the tv is capable of by itself? There is no way to completely disable all of the Apple TV's internal processing or upscaling, so what we are seeing is just what the tv changes based on what the Apple TV is already doing based on whatever your settings are in the Apple TV. Some of us don't (and won't) use an Apple TV and we really want to see what the set is doing on it's own without additional external processing. Hey Steve. My observation is that I am hesitant to buy a tv like this based on your opening statements of how company's are going with mini-led and Oled. I also noticed that mostly Samsung is the main company still producing edge-lit tv's. I'm concerned because I believe that edge-lit is the cheapest type tv to manufacture. That makes me hesitate and think... "Am I getting a crappy tv by choosing edge-lit"?? I also reviewed R-tings and they did not favor this tv well. I wouldn't be too worried about edge-lit vs direct-lit vs etc, in my experience, I've had both direct and edge lit tv's and samsung does a pretty good job with how they implement their technology. Really comes down to how much the manufacturer cares to properly implement the technology at the given price point, for example I have had a Sony in the same price range that was direct lit and it was tashhhh compared to the similarly priced samsung with an edge-lit panel. A fantastic samsung tv that's a model higher that is a great example of this is the Q60C (or Q60D now), it is edge lit, but black level is deep and uniformity is stellar

@masterbath2062 use the HDMI audio from the TV on your Xbox, optical is a old compressed audio, the HDMI will allow better audio on everything

I was at Best Buy and asked about 120 HZ only on the 85", which I've been reading on several websites. They said this is not correct. That all the DU8000s are 60 HZ. Can you confirm?

after some time i found out that this tv can't play 4k resolution it's only crystal uhd but they market it as 4k crystal uhd tv

@powerfulquotes1316 it plays 4k just fine, my demos are all 4k. What source are you using
@powerfulquotes1316Ай бұрын
@TechSteve I tried playing Costa Rica in KZbin 4k resolution it can play but lags a lot though my internet speed is fine. Then I downloaded videos in 4k resolution and saved them in external drive but when I tried playing them it can't show any of them which led me to believe that this tv does not support 4k resolution

@danielestrella43653 ай бұрын
@TechSteve is it worth the extra to get the q70? For the extra 60hz? Vs q60D? Or is the DU8000 better option? That's what I'm contemplating, between difference in HZ for gaming and fiber optic output, nice color/contrast for gaming/tv. I will get a 55inch of whatever you believe is better overall. Just bought a 55inch and noticed they used An Ips panel and not VA one 😢
@TechSteve2 ай бұрын
I’m pretty sure it’s a VA, Samsung mainly uses ips on neo qled series www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/70f53aaa
@deckenciumdecross3422Ай бұрын
I contacted Samsung and they didn't deny the use of an ips panel in my region, it' has too much clouding that is very distracting while watching night scenes and letter boxed contents. They promised to book it for warranty.
@zCatalinAslanАй бұрын
How did you find out? What is the difference?
@deckenciumdecross3422Ай бұрын
@@zCatalinAslan you can tell when watching letter boxed content the the backlit is more visible at the top or bottom /the black bars will look grey on ips than on VA Panels, the most distinguishing character is the viewing angle, the ips panel content remain colorful even when viewed from an off angle but on VA the colors will start to shift when viewied from an off angle
@deckenciumdecross3422Ай бұрын
Im a movie fan, and movies look so good on VA panels than on ips , especially night scenes because VA Panels have a higher native contrast ratio than the ips counterpart, The ips panel ain't bad they can be good for content creation ( video and picture editing as they have more natural color rendition and high response time when used as a monitor pc ) For movies they might be good but atleast on mini led /full array backlit with micro dimming Tvs which tend to be expensive
