Xiaomi knows what kind of reviewer you are. That alone means that Xiaomi is confident about their phones and are willing to learn from "mistakes". You are probably going to make a difference for the OIS on the frontcam repeating it over and over again ;).

@@Alexander0189 I think I went to the urbanización where Chris lives on holiday and stayed in one of the villas there. The mountains look very familiar. I won't say exactly where it is to protect Chris' privacy (if i'm correct) but it's around the Dénia area in Spain. It is a beautiful area but sadly my (Spanish) wife says there are too many guiris there ;). Great review as always. When I start earning money again this might be my next phone. Shame it doesn't have stereo speakers; so many manufacturers still only putting one speaker in their phones. Even Huawei have changed from stereo speakers to mono speakers. It just seems like a step back.

Everybody is arguing coz of the 60hz, but nobody sees the real weakness. There is no Optical image Stabilization. The sensor is the sucsessor of the sensor of the OnePlus 7 T( but this has OiS) and does coz of this better pictures.

It is great to see you switching from a flagship Samsung phone to Redmi K30 Pro Zoom although going to miss that convenient Samsung DEX connectivity to the TV. Heard that recently certain Galaxy S20 Ultra units have broken rear camera glass that affects camera performance. Despite having a 60 Hz-only screen & non-expandable storage (still forgivable due to larger & faster internal UFS storage), K30 Pro Zoom still has great rear cameras (Sony IMX lens) for its price & a headphone jack. I am still having a tough choice of either buying this phone or the upcoming Mi 10 Lite Zoom 5G as long as I can jump into 5G bandwagon immediately without neglecting my wired earphones. Mi Note 10 Lite is of course a big NO, too pricey for a SD 730G powered phone with 4G-only & no OIS on both lenses.

Good work as usual. 2 things I wanted to mention. I would change the title of the video adding zoom as you have that addition instead of the standard pro. The 2nd is I was missing the thermal check wanted to see how warm the phone after gaming.

Currently using a Redmi Note 4x which has served very well for the last 3 years. For a $150US phone at the time, 12hr sot battery life, adequate performance and a garbage camera. After watching phones change over the years, The Redmi k30 pro (hopefully global version soon) looks like it's finally going to be a worthy upgrade, with all the features I want, that no other phone can supply. All screen, large battery life, NFC and an IR Blaster..... Finally. 🤗

Another great review as always. One thing I really like about your Camera reviews is that you actually shows what you are doing like the stabilization you showed while filming your daughter. The phone really looks good but I too wish to have a stereo speaker for better multimedia experience. By the way, you have used Gcam port on this as well. Can we expect a GCam vs stock camera comparison, once a much stable version of Gcam port is available? Also, can you please try Poco Launcher and share your experience? I'm using that in my Redmi Note 8 Pro and as per my experience, it does play a bit better than some other third party launchers.

It's very hard to do I try my best to advoid the annoying reflection. Overhead setup and shot on a Sony A6400 4k 100mbps with sigma 30mm f/1.4

I'm considering buying this k30 pro zoom edition when we have a global version in a few months to replace the mix 3, I love the full screen displays. The specs are perfect for me, solid snapdragon, great camera options, large battery, for me a 60hz display is fine on screens this size.

Great review Chris,!!👍🏻👍🏻 Trying to decide between this phone & the Realme X2 Pro... 🥰the X2 Pro's 90Hz display, dual speakers & crazy fast charging!! On a side note 7% battery drain overnight seems terrible. Android need to make more OS optimization a priority, that's one thing IOS is great at, stand by battery drain. 🍻keep up the great work & stay safe brother!!

I messed up I meant to say that 7% was with always on display and on 4G so that's normal. With it off it's 4% which is fine. It's not the best but the new standby drain on the SD865 is worse maybe due to the 5G modem.

Idk, but after the recent findings of Xiaomi tacking their users. It will be hard for me to buy their devices. I mean if I was still that root and flash a custom rom person I would have done that. But it takes quite a few amount of time for me every time backing up 256gb of data and copying it back and setting up near nearly 500+ apps sometime. I would love to see what would be your experience if you flash a custom rom on that phone.
