Yep for those only wanting to upgrade a around $100 5600/5600X is a good upgrade from Zen+/Zen2. Anything more people should just jump ship as the 7500F was only $20 more. About $100 more for board and ram after selling off old parts. $120 could have brought you into AM5 7500F (5800X3D territory).

7500F for me with a 4070 Super. Don't sleep on that CPU! It is a great first step to AM5 then you can upgrade to a 8000/9000 series, most likely 9000 CPU later. Even if you don't plan to upgrade the 7500F is a surprise performer that can last you for a good few years!

Have two of these boards. 6 layer PCB and quite beefy power section. Should be fine paired with 5700x3d. Drawback is you won't get pcie 4.0 with a520.

@@GeminionRay I lucked out and got similar silicon in a laptop. Was like a $1600 laptop, but it had been dropped and the metal chassis was slightly bent. Got it for like $140. SUPER happy with it! Yeah, it doesn't pull the watts to make it powerful like a desktop, but I thought my i5 9th gen was crapping out and now that I fixed it again, my "backup" is way more powerful for years of productivity to come. :) Needed a 3rd screen temporarily today and it's just so sweet!

I've got a 11400F on a b560m gigabyte board. My tip is get a cooler like the snowman. Then find the bios option to change it from a 65w mode to 125w mode. You can also use the intel XTU software to boost the wattage too. CPU still boosts to the same limit of 4.2ghz but won't throttle to 3.8ghz like the 65w version.

Those prices are probably only available in your location Brian. Buying from aliexpress in sweden costs as much as just buying the shit from amazon or local stores. So there are no good reasons to buy from ali. Just got 7800X3D for 260 USD new from a store dropping a few to that price during a live stream on youtube here in sweden. That is with 25% tax added into the price. So that was almost the same price as the 5700X3D cost here. Buut I could get by with much less performance than this really, except in quake champions.

Hey. With the e5 2673 v3 is there one or can you post a link showing how to get all cores to the 3.1 or 3.2 boosted speed? Or is there a video you have done in the past that shows how you did it? For my market, I really like the Ryzen 5 3600 and 5500. Both CPUs are pretty easy to obtain locally used (the 3600) or new (the 5500) and AM4 motherboards are also easy to find and obtain at a reasonable price. I have noticed though that a lot of Ryzen 5600s and 5700s are showing up at good prices on my local marketplace so I've been eying those up a lot more. I have to say though that after you mentioned the 11400F on Aliexpress, that platform seems affordable and 11th gen intel CPUs are still quite good in today's gaming environment. I'll have to make it a point this summer to build an Aliexpress PC with all the suggestions you've provided with all your videos.

I'm one of the lucky few to live near a Micro Center that still had 5700X3Ds in stock, so I was able to upgrade my 3600. Massive improvement, especially in VR. With Curve Optimizer, I run it at -15, and it rarely exceeds 70 degrees using a Wraith Prism. My 3600 routinely reached around 78, since I never got around to undervolting... and hadn't changed the paste in three years. Whoops.

12400F has the best price/performance ratio. Cheaper than R5 5600 and more powerful. You can also use it with DDR4 or DDR5. You can practically change the platform without changing the processor. AMD AM4 is obsolete. Any investment in AM4 is wasted money.

Funny enough, I just updated my 3700X to a 5700X3D. It was $199 USD on Amazon shipped here to NYC so not the crazy deal you are listing but the performance increase pair with my RTX 3080 has been great. Pretty much no more CPU bottlenecks. Paired it with a Deep Cool 360 AIO and the temps don't leave the 50s even under max load. One call out is you mentioned about 75% of the performance of the 5800X3D. From my research, it's about 5-10% slower at most on average. Definitely include both in your upcoming test. Keep up the deal videos!

I've bought 5700x3d when they first time went below $200 equivalent in my currency, I was also able to sold used 5600x for almost $100 equivalent, I'm extremely happy with this upgrade. I was also surprised how cold it is. 2 of my friends have 5800x3d, and they in practice require an AiO, meanwhile I'm on normal 12 cm tower cooler having even lower temps than 5600x. Having this cpu, paired with 3080, makes me ready for next few years I believe.

As a Xeon fan I must say that not all x99 motherboards are the same, most of the cheapest only have dual channel memory, but there are a few cheap ones that have quad channel memory and it is worth looking for them if you can get hold of 4 cheap ddr4 sticks ;)

The best combo imo is a 12400 and a board with an external clock generator for $200. I can guarantee you won't be able to beat that performance for $200. It used to cost ~$400 about s year ago when ltt showed it off and wasn't really worth it then. Now if you can get those prices it is. Can oc that chip to ~5.1-5.3 ghz with 6400-6600 memory.

Unless gaming is your thing that would be a worse move. Max out would be a 5800x3d if gaming and a 5950 for multicore perf.

I purchased a Ryzen 5 3600X over a month and half ago for $74 put that in an Asus Prime B450 A ll Mother board for $75 from Amazon and an XFX RX 6650 XT You and couldn't be happier 6 cores at 4Ghz great frame rates in games I play

I game on a more than 10 year old xeon on a regular basis due to severe lack of money it is my pc. I have it paired with a rx 6600 8gb and utilizes quad channel ram. I upgraded my gpu from the 680 4gb since some games insist on more than 4gb of ram. In spite of its age Overall still fine for my needs.

5700X3D is crazy value on Ali. Especially when you can get at that price, plus other coupons and offers making it even less. No reason not to go upgrade if you have AM4 and want to game. And don't intend to change platforms any time soon.
