Hello there. From watching your reviews, I would say that sounds like a reasonable price. I'm surprised. Thanks for the update.

Speaking of expensive, Ham Radio Outlet has the Yaesu FT-710 on deep sale through the end of this month. The Field is $876 USD and the AESS base station version is $944. Normally $1,300. It's number four on the Sherwood list.

If a high end radio was in the budget i think i would go for the PL880 and save a few bucks and still get a great radio.👍

sold at 410€ in Europe, taxes included 😵😵💫😟my fellow europeans, stick with the PL660/680 or PL330, they're perfectly fine and provide almost the same results 😇

Thats an absolutely ridiculous price

Scared to think what this could be in the UK! The Tecsun 8800 is £350 and the 990 is £280 on Amazon. Eek!

The question is, did they consider any of your feedback before putting out this model to the public for sale? My understanding was that this wasn't a production model yet. Plus, I would prefer the charcoal or black color for the case over the color of the sample you have. I would really like to see them fix that s-meter flaw, too. So much for updating their radios to something with more modern accoutrements such as backlighted keys, RDS, weatherband (for US customers), etc.

I sent in my comments and apparently this is why they sent out this unit to me, so I can tell them what is wrong before the official release to the public

I've been waiting. I currently have the 750. It receives better than the 880. I might be tempted if they fix the upper frequencyissues and the S meter. But how will you know? .

The only gripe I have with the PL-880 is the charging input being USB-Mini. Everything else about the unit is spot on, and is arguably is the best value portable SW receiver out there.

I want it, but for almost $400 not gonna happen

There a lot of cheaper radios, like you have shown. I can get a RSPdx r2 for about $100 lest, and it has a much wider coverage.

$552 Australian... I suppose it's reasonable. I mean I paid over $1300 for the Uniden usds100 scanner. Thank you for your video/s

Sounds like NZ750 to me. A refurbished PC + AirSpy HF+Discovery , leaving the 2200x for dead, would cost me $NZ450, a much better deal. No S 2200x for me.

Like I said, Tecsun is in competition with itself and I think these radios are targeted toward those who collect radios just to collect radios... Also, can you see the firmware these radios have because if you can and they come out with new models with updated firmware, the returns on this radio is going to be nuts...

That’s really not that bad. I wish I could justify it for me, but I don’t think so. It’s gonna be a hard sell I think, as the current crop of portables are really capable and cost a lot less.

At this price, if you want a high quality shortwave radio, paying similar or a little more for a used high end receiver like an icom IC-R75 is a better option.

How does this compare to the Retekess Tr113 for value?
@martinabowm17868 күн бұрын
That makes it around €475 -500 in Europe for a radio that still has no working SYNC....Ireland about 490 - 530!! Nope, I will hang a picture of it up in the shack!! 😂

Beautiful radio, I just can’t justify it for that price. That’s $572. Canadian plus shipping!

I would never buy one again after the volume gave up with knob crackles and low volume. I moved to SDR which is way better the MALAHIT DSP2 - All Mode 10kHz-2GHz SDR Receiver outshines everything on rx at the moment
