Great footage and review as always my friend. Some real varied terrain there which is ideal to test out such a shoe. 👍🏼👊

Believe in the run called this the best “road shoe” of 2022 haha. Hoka has this tendency to make amazing trail shoes that you wish had a road variant. That’s how I feel about my speedgoats (4). How is it more comfortable than my Bondi?
@samesparza21492 жыл бұрын
To be fair, they also said it's a great road to trail shoe and I think that it definitely appears to hit that mark. I'll find out when mine come in a suppose haha

This a shoe that I have been seriously wanting to try out. I have shyed away from the Hoka trail line due to its narrowness - had a pair of speedgoats just split one me and have been enjoying the latest Timps a lot. I enjoy the Mach 4 a ton (was a little late to the game there but my daughter got me a pair for Christmas) so if those 9.5s need a home when you get your 9s, thats my size. LOL Keep up the great work!

I think its great that Hoka is innovating in the trail shoe realm. Some interesting ideas in this model. I think it's got more than I need on my buffed trails here, but I hope they keep some of what they did on the upperof this shoe for models like the Torrent going forward!

Great review, thank you. Sizing wrt to the upper is a problem in this shoe for me also (i am in-between sizes and usually size up). Do you think this shoe is suitable for a 100miler for those of us looking to finish mid-pack?
@shawnbomb132 жыл бұрын
While not to discount the sizing issue you had, I find the same blistering problem with Hoka because they use an Ortholite sockliner. May want to switch those out to see if it makes a difference.
@samesparza21492 жыл бұрын
See I'm the opposite. That liner for me is the least agitating haha

I just bought this shoe. Although it does make u go faster downhill, it will still require effort to go uphill. Don't expect mechanical doping performance. The vibram sole does grip pretty well. But comparing uphill performance to foam shoe, carbon plated ones might work against you.

I have the Ragnar in Snowmass, CO in June and it’s my first trail race in those conditions. I know kofuzi ran one way back on this channel, but I’m debating what shoe would work for me. These are $200 but the Zinal is cheaper and the ASICS Fuji Lite 2 got a lot of love for way way less

I'm looking for a do-it-all daily trainer because me and my husky love to go from road to trail whether it's a well maintained trail, fire road, slightly hairy trail at the local state park etc. I realize this is more work a race shoe but do you think you would be comfortable using this is a dialy trainer/all arounder?

This might be a stupid question, so I apologize up front. The dual czrbon plates very much has me intrested and I kinda wanna try them out just to experience them. I don't run trail or anything off road. So my question is........should you ever use trail shoes if all you run is outdoors on asphalt? Is it bad to where I'm risking injury just outta pure curiosity ?
@poolsidepapi2 жыл бұрын
trail shoes have lugs, those lugs are meant to grip muddy and softer surfaces. If you use them on asphalt, they will wear down much faster, cutting into your durability
@kofuzi2 жыл бұрын
this shoe runs pretty nicely on pavement. vibram megagrip litebase is good that way. I don't think it would risk injury, but I also think you wouldn't really notice the benefit of the dual carbon on the relatively level surface of asphalt
