The scariest thing about this guy is he valued his own life. Most of these serial killers didn’t care what kind of sentence they got or what happened to them. He took these women’s lives so easily but did everything he could to delay his own execution.

It's not "scary" that he "valued his own life"...that is a natural self-preserving instinct. What was "scary" was how he was charming one minute and then viciously tearing his young victims apart the next! He was and forever in my mind will be remembered as a souless piece of sh*t that destroyed many lives.

There is some kind of inherited fickle problem in a large percentage of women's brains, they are attracted to the "bad boys", then wonder why they get beaten, and dumped. Everyone should remember that, when women have a possibility to be in a position of responsibility/power. When I say "some kind", the problem is known psychology of ancient survival.

Aren't you glad that you'll never have to watch a _Theresa Bundy_ get fan mail after she'd cruelly snuffed-out so many promising young male lives? You'll never have to experience it - because women don't slaughter young lads Bundy-fashion. We don't manipulate, stalk, rape, torture and kill young college lads for kicks. Do you know what you'd hear from guys on these boards if our fictional Theresa Bundy had a cute smile and was _built?_ "She's hot tho!" I tire of the obsession with Ted's groupies and I suspect it's the result of defensive male posters worried that any examination of sickening misogyny is _making men look bad._ Susan Smith watched her kids drown slowly because they inconvenienced her. A number of prison guards have been reprimanded / fired for having sex with her. Diane Downs killed one of her kids and maimed the rest. She regularly received letters as a convict, from men who "just wanted to take care of her." Closest we have to a Bundy is Aileen Wournos, but she wasn't "hot" and was never going to get the groupies. Ted looked like a TV soap hunk and as any defence attorney will tell you, pretty faces dazzle juries. "even when they knew he was a serial killer" - but they weren't picturing him torturing women - they couldn't get past his pretty face. Contrast Bundy - so beloved by the media - with portly BTK Dennis Rader, of whom the kindest one could say had a more "homely" appearance. He killed many women but he didn't get the trial groupies. Cos nobody fancied him. Do NOT fall for this shit girls. I really think men should just be thankful that their sons will go to college and not have to worry that some woman will stalk them, sexually torture them and desecrate their remains. I'm not saying the O.P. specifically held this intention, but please be aware that many of the men who write such posts do. It's a favourite trick of the MRA crew and ultimately, if repeated time and time again, it almost implies that women invite abuse. It's dangerous and it's specious. As I wrote - men just need to be thankful that "pretty" women don't whack young lads over the head - drag them to isolated locations and sexually torture them. Sadly, women always have to be very careful about how we're perceived by men. Always remind men how lucky they are, with regards to this specific issue. Always be mindful of undertones - what is not being said.

Ted Bundy offered my grandpa a ride home once when he was a teenager, he lived in Seattle and I think Ted mistook him for a girl from behind because of his long hair. 2 weeks later a 16 year old girl from west Seattle high school went missing and was listed as a runaway but it's suspected he killed her and she was never found

@Amy Y You can go back and do the math, my grandpa was born in Seattle in 1960, Bundy was in Seattle in 1974. He didn't get in the car with him but Bundy did the whole "I need help" act with him and was driving his infamous mustard yellow beetle, he was hanging out at Alki Beach when it happened. You can believe whatever you want to, I'm just sharing what he told me. You believing me isn't my priority.

@ Maria David, I agree. It was a different time. Rugged looks, and a "Man's man" were considered attractive. Today, the "men" that are mostly considered attractive are over dramatic baby-faced, tattooed, bird caged chested, femininely dressed with a ghetto twist of style. The Jersey Shore, Justin Beiber esque men are really something that appeals to the girls of today, you can have them! I'll take yesterdays classy men like Clint Eastwood, or a Michael Landon anyday of the week! Coming from a younger woman!

Everyone says he looks ugly but you have to remember a few things -In the 70s, style was different. -TV resolution and print were not as crisp as it is now. Set this vid to 144p and picture it being on an old TV. -He had a car and dressed well, was articulate, and stayed around younger impressionable women. This gave the impression that he was an achiever and successful. -He had charisma, like a how a good salesman can sell you junk. It's not about what's being sold, it's about who's selling it. -It took years for the truth to come out so he didn’t seem heinous. -He seemed to have a heart, more than most serial killers who were numb to their emotions.

The duplex where Ms. Thomas was attacked was just a few blocks away. I was and am a big fan of the FSU dance program and was heartbroken that Ms. Thomas's injuries permanently ended her dance career. I moved to Denver in 1975 and there was a story on the news about women is Salt Lake City and the MO was the same. In front of 4 people I called the SLC Police Department and said "There was a guy in Seattle doing the exact same thing, same MO exactly." The cop on the phone said "Yeah, I'm sure he commutes" and hung up. Believe me or not, I could care less, that's exactly what happened.

It still took years after the lake sammamish murders for them to put two and two together and come up with Bundy. Law enforcement had his name, car, and physical description, but he slipped through their fingers and moved on to utah. Cops didn't catch Bundy, bundy caught himself through his erratic driving. I'm no Bundy fan, but let's be honest, he got away with his crimes for years, while cops bumbled around trying to figure things out. Years later they take credit for 'catching' him, when truth be told, he just fell into their laps, the cops had NO clue. His then long time girlfriend even phoned the cops, and handed him to them on a silver platter, and still it was years before they caught up with him. The cops were totally inept, now to hear them tell it, they caught him, laughable.

Bundy was exposed to horrifying violence and psychological trauma before the age of 5, mostly at the hands of his savage grandfather, whom he thought was his father. The combination of violence, and the lack of normal parental interactions in early childhood, fosters many personality disorders in adulthood. In that respect, Bundy's childhood was like Aileen Wuornos. This type of disfunctional environment in early childhood, shapes and moulds SOME people into becoming criminal psychopaths in adulthood.

It's so tragic to see a life like Ted's. He could have done good things with his life. He was probably a great phone counselor. Maybe if he had received early therapy after being with his violent grandfather, like play therapy, he wouldn't have turned into a violent person. We need to intervene early when a child lives with violence or shows danger signs like assaulting younger siblings or torturing animals and severe social awkwardness. It's sad that the Ted Bundy case didn't result in a national movement to help troubled children and for families with a troubled child to get quality treatment, including neurofeedback.
@barbarabrooks4747
@barbarabrooks4747 Жыл бұрын
@@esthergift8373 the point is to learn how to recognize these people in childhood and try to reprogram their brains, train their parents to be viligent so they know where he is and what he is doing and remove the child from the home if the parents are criminals or don't watch him or have no authority. If the child persists in cruelty to animals and people, then he needs to be in an institution with school and work with others like him. The worst thing you can do is put him in prison or juvenile hall with inmates he can manipulate, torment or corrupt. If we don't take action when animal cruelty (which is a crime) starts and keep with mental health follow up and home visits, he will be a school shooter, thief, murderer, or at best, one who torments his family, but not outsiders. Usually serial killers have to kill at least 2 or 3 victims before the police make an arrest. Wouldn't it be better to stop him before the first rape or murder?

He'd simply been getting away with his crimes for so long and he had become more and more accustomed to that fact and so became much more daring and the need to fulfil his desires weighed on him more and more. I'm not saying that everyone did not do their jobs but it always comes down to communication with humility.

We’re lucky now we live in a world where it’s so much easier to catch people who do these sick crimes!

it’s so shocking to me how naive some of those women are... “he doesn’t look like he would kill anybody” well he clearly did

The one with the pigtails is gorgeous I can’t deny this. No one wants an ugly catch anyways. They had dark hair and parts down the middle.

These Ted Bundy fangirls are something I will never understand. As attractive he may have been, that's what helped him get away for so long. He's a terrible person who's hurt so many people, if any of my friends, I don't care how long I've known them, are a Ted Bundy fangirl, I'm immideatly dropping them

He should not have been executed. Two wrongs do not make a right. We could have studied him, to find out what went wrong with him, to turn him into a rapist and killer. He would have cooperated in that process, he knew that something was terribly wrong with him. From prison, he solved the Green River murders. He called the FBI, and told them that the killer was similar to him. He told them the profile, where to look for the man, and how the man was finding his victims, and where he would take them. And he was exactly right, in the end. Had the FBI listened to Bundy, the would have caught the Green River killer years before they finally did. Listening to Ted Bundy would have saved lives. Killing him was stupid.

If this is the network Oxygen that uploaded this, I'm disappointed. Not well edited, sound production very uneven, and no ID on some of the people speaking.

After watching the movie and watching the documentary, his face was flashing into my eyes and I was very scared at night. I couldn’t sleep well and had nightmares. This guy is dead but it is haunting me 😭😰 for two days.

Ted Bundy was intelligent, charming and could be called handsome, but he was able to kill for as long as he did because of the time that he did it in. In the 1970’s, it was a more innocent time, women were more trusting. Many would not hesitate to help a stranger out. Lots of people still hitchhiked as a way to get around. Doors were left open. Most important, at that time, police departments rarely shared information across counties, let alone states. The technology didn’t exist like it does today. There was no CODIS, no internet, computers were primitive at best. News traveled slowly compared to today. And there was no DNA testing. So the deaths of women in Washington state were not connected to the murders taking place in Utah or Colorado, at least not right away. Ted was lucky he got away with murder for as long as he did. Had he attempted to murder women in 2019, he would have most likely been caught within months not years.

He got away with it, because no one would ever have thought anyone could do what he did. He also took advantage of a culture where people trusted and helped. No one would ever “deserve” an attack, really did she was asked that?

He was evil, but no genius as much as he was lucky, to escape law enforcement.

And thankfully his girlfriend Liz felt compelled to keep following up with the police despite how much she hoped he was innocent. She gave them gas receipts and a lot of info that placed Ted squarely in the vicinty of the murders.

So deep what he said about the fish, that the bigger fish are too deep under and the only way to understand them is to go deep under with them, and that ‘normal’ people can’t do it because they’ll drown. (too moral to survive it). Deep.

this video couldve been 2 seconds long. all you have to know about how he got away with it is that he was white, educated, and privileged, but most importantly, white.
