During a service someone leaned over to me and said "isn't this just incredible?" I responded with "yeah the cost of the light show and fog machines and large band could've been put towards helping people in need." They then accused me of not understanding God.

I can't see how any "evangelical" can be a true Christian; Jesus never walked around Jerusalem or Rome in sharp expensive Roman fashion, preaching that you must obey the 600+ mitzvot, asking for donations, then going home to a large gated villa with security that keeps the poor out. That would be the "evangelical" Jesus. If one of these "evangelicals" lived in Roman times, they would tell Jesus "get a job you lazy bum". I doubt any of them sincerely believe, it's all about the coin imo. Some of the prosperity gospel preachers even admitted they were all about making money, and fools still believe in them.

What Ted did aside, and not sure what his ministry taught so not commenting there, if he really sought forgiveness/repentance is between him/God, I have a lot of issues with how the church handled the situation. As I understand in the Bible, Paul rebuked a church for banishing a member for some really evil acts even after he had fully repented of his sins. I know that according to the Bible, Ted is unable to maintain a pastoral role and anything higher than probably an usher, but to banish him completely from his own congregation after he sought amends, that bothered me. It did seem like he got a little "drunk on the fame" which is hard to see at the moment but it is easy in retrospect. Ultimately I felt the worst for his wife and kids especially who were victims of his misdeeds and it was made worse by the actions of the church leaders too. Also, credit to the producer for being respectful of the situation and what was going on and telling it like it is. That is hard to see these days, especially in documentaries about churches. And the use of Moby Natural Blues was a nice touch too =)

At the end of the day if he repents and turns from his sin there is no reason why we should condemn him to hell. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. God’s mercy and forgiveness is given to those who truly seek him with a broken and repented heart. If that’s his case then praise God. This man was convicted in his heart, and he confessed and came clean. It’s too bad people don’t realize that they’re just very blessed and privileged not to maybe struggle with a deep sin or mental illness. But petty mean misses just a sin as much as anything else. Whats so ironic is almost ALL of Ted's congregation watches PORN, sucks penises (sometimes their husband's penises), many men in the congregation are "secretly" BI-SEXUAL. ALMOST all have had affairs behind their boyfriends, girlfriends, spouses back. YET they kick TED out of the church for SINNING as they do!🤔 This is the •SAME• as the Catholic christians. Those priests have RAPED thousands of children and yet those priests *CONTINUE* to preach god's word!🤔 kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZ3aqGB8aL6MqNE

I actually felt a lot of compassion for this man and his family watching this. Just being a HUMAN BEING sets you up to be fallible. He screwed up. Was a hypocrite. Lived a double standard. His "fall" has nothing to do with being Evangelical. It had more to do with being a Human being who gave into temptation and then kept it covered. The awesome thing is that Jesus Christ forgives anyone who confesses and repents. Luke 12:3, 1John 1:9, Ephesians 4:32. Thanks for sharing this. Wish Ted Haggard and his family all the very best.

Ergo you can rape and murder and you’ll be forgiven? But as an atheist I’ll go to your imaginary hell right? Pfft. How about we still own slaves like exodus 21 says we should? it even has the rules all set out about how we should treat them. Insanity. Man made insanity.

Ted Haggard is human. Give him a break. He made mistakes but he admitted to them and he’s stayed committed to his family. Not only that but he humbled himself down by sharing every aspect of his life to the public . He’s an honorable man.

He came across as strange at first. You have to know pastors struggle with this more than you know and are terrified of the outcome. It's why I lost hope for churches, and turned towards my Bible more. I very much respect his modesty more than anything. He's someone I'd definitely do a Bible study with.

"Keeps us in sinc with The White House"?!! What happened to church-state separation ( jurisprudential concept for defining political distance from religion )! Isn't that in the 1st Amendment? Hmmmm, as I sniff from Canada

The separation of church and state is not in the Constitution. The 1st Amendment protects the right of Americans to practice religion freely without interference from the gov't.

Yeah right! Islamic people are so far above this behavior! Come on this happens in every culture and religion. That’s because religion is all one big scam and bullshit story with no real truth to any of them. Religion is just a form of control. Telling people there is a invisible man in the sky watching your every move and thought. What utter BULLSHIT! How dumb can people be to actually believe this no evidence no facts just writings from the Bronze Age?

I actually feel bad for Ted after watching this. As Christians we're not supposed to judge people, and to be a strong support system when they slip on the path. This church just turned him away and offered no forgiveness, no chance for redemption, and one day they will be standing before the good Lord and having to answer for that.
