Each of the books Ted gives to the players is specific to them. Ted wants Roy to find his inner leader. Sam's book is "Ender's Game", about a young prodigy far from home. Jamie's book (that he throws away) is "The Beautiful and the Damned" the tale of a young man with money but no moral underpinnings. The show has 1,001 small details.

That's the key isn't it? If you, "Help these young men grow and become the best versions of themselves on and off the field," the wins will come. Granted, he's coming from a Division II university where very young men are trying to make that bridge from larva stage to maturity, and AFC Richmond is a professional team where jobs and a community's pride and sense of unity are at stake, essentially they are still young men needing that positive male role model and guidance. This show helped me survive the pandemic.
