The last time they played Man City, it wasn't a League game. It was the semi-final for the FA Cup, which is a completely different tournament. The semi-finals and the final to the FA Cup are held at Wembley Stadium in London. So even though he had played them since, this was the first time he had played Man City at their own home stadium.

I like how they humanized Rupert, not to make us like him, but to make us see why Rebecca was attracted to him originally. He used to be a decently good man who’s fallen so deep he’s unredeemable
@A-small-amount-of-peas Жыл бұрын
He's hardly unredeemable. The whole point of Ted is learning to forgive and give people another chance. Who knows maybe after this chastening experience emotionally and financially approaching his twilight years even Rupert might stop living in the past and realise the error of his ways?
@fayesouthall6604 Жыл бұрын
It showed he was once a good man but he’s got corrupted by wealthy and power. She was there because he knew she would stop Edwin without him taking responsibility. I’m so happy for Rebecca that she has made her future without Rupert. 😊
@KS-xk2so Жыл бұрын
I think the whole point of it was like OP said, it humanized him. No one is only one thing. Rupert is the hero of the story in his eyes. The great thing about Ted Lasso is that no one is a 100% evil mustache twirling villain, everyone deserves a chance to grow. Look at the darts scene in season 1. Ted could've used that opportunity to show up Rupert and insult him. Instead, he uses it as a teachable moment. Be curious, not judgemental.
@matthewhearn9910 Жыл бұрын
I think he has to lose a lot more (which it seems he's in the process of doing) before any sort of path to redemption is possible. It's very much possible, but not as long as he has power to hold over people.

My favorite lines in this episode were Roy :- personally I’m fine with him playing injured, I did it all the time. Beard:- you can’t even walk up stairs! Liked the fact that Jamie’s dad was in rehab, my first thought was he had died. Keeley hiding behind cars while Roy just walked down the street was great. The season will start again in August so depends on when your here in London and yes it would be difficult and expensive but there could be lower division games or women’s games to see if you just want to experience the atmosphere.

The Roy Kent "ffuuuuck" effect is in full swing this episode! Jamie breaking down in the boot room was probably one of the funniest things I've seen on this show. Phil Dunster must have had a lot of fun between this and Roy's Uncle day. What a pair these two are! So funny Roy kinda hitting on his mom too and his room with both Roy and Keeley posters was great. The YT version cut out the Roy and Keeley talk and your reaction, but hope you talk about it in the last episode analysis. What a great game seeing Van Damme do his thing. And his dad entering rehab. You swear to god he's a POS and then he does something like going to rehab. We don't know why but it's a good sign and it's a second chance.

23:57 the time they played Man City in season two was at Wembley Stadium in London, officially a neutral sight, but geographically closer to Richmond. Then earlier this season Man City visited Nelson Road to play Richmond, so this game is the first time Jamie Tart is playing In Manchester since he left to go on Lust Conquers All
@yurigodoy93 Жыл бұрын
Jaime never played at Manchester since he left the team to do that reality show, because he went to Richmond when they were in the Championship, a league below the Premier League where City was, and when they faced each other in the FA Cup semi final in season 02, they played at Wembley, that's in London. And this season they played at Nelson Road, Richmond's home stadium, also in London. So yeah, this was the first time Jaime came back to his home town since lefting the team.

So this is Jamie's return to Man city's stadium and pitch. In the Man City episode they were playing at Wembley because it was a semi-final for the FA cup. So this is his first time returning to this stadium. I believe. And also we missed their 15 game winning streak but if they're going to win one would have to assume that Zorro made a bunch of saves but of course we'd only see it when he doesn't because when he doesn't it's a point for drama. He made his international team so one would have to assume he's really good but we just haven't seen those parts but we've been told that he's great.

What's funny is that both Beard and Lasso's reactions to Pep are basically genuine. Both Jason and Brendan are big fans of the man as a manager and they were thrilled that he agreed to play himself in the series. She seems so sweet and funny and all that stuff. What is Ted's deal? Why is he so annoyed by her? Then you figure it all out and you're like, "Oh, OK. I see now. Thinking back at how much things have changed for Jamie. In the pilot or second episode when Ted says how emotionally healthy Jamie is after asking him about being a panda or lion and Jamie responds with “I’m me, why would I want to be anyone else?” It’s clear that Jamie was one of the least emotionally healthy ones and it took him losing almost everything to begin to grow and truly become emotionally healthy like he is by the end of the series. Also, the fact that it’s Colin and Isaac who go to ask Nate to come back to Richmond is huge since they were his tormentors at the start of the season 1. Will being there as a sign of forgiving Nate for being overly harsh rounds it out beautifully.

When Jamie came off the field, Roy hugged him and whispered something in Jamie's ear. We didn't hear what he said but in my head what he said was either: 1) "You're here. You're there. You're every fucking where Jamie Tartt. Jamie Tartt." The reason is that he saw the poster on Jamie's wall, so he knows Jamie liked him as a player. So, Jamie to hear the player he idolized growing up cheer him on in the way that Roy was cheered when he played would mean the world. Or. 2) "I'm proud of you, *son*.
