Great Reaction to a wonderful series. I am in London, in my 8th decade, and I attended 1,781 live matches but we need to have a quiet word. lol Based on "When In Rome" the word "Soccer" conjures up a low-key name for the biggest Sport around the World and the most watched in 53 out of 55 European Countries (2nd in the other 2) :) "Soccerball??" FOOTBALL......
@eolsunderАй бұрын
@@Isleofskye true, the US and others call it soccer to show the difference in american football, but the word came from the UK, who initially called it soccer (association football) to show the difference between it and rugby. It didn't take in the UK, they went with rugby and football instead of rugby and soccer. BUT it was invented by the UK. So nothing wrong with calling it soccer, THAT was what some in the UK called it in 1880s in Oxford. So like the UK, americans called it soccer to show the difference between the american football and the other "football". Nothing wrong with that. Other countries that have different forms of "football" call it soccer to tell the difference. Australia, Canada, Ireland.
@IsleofskyeАй бұрын
@@eolsunder Thanks, My Friend. I am in my 8th decade and have attended 1,781 matches since 1962, so I am familiar with the background. I can not argue with a single word, though sometimes "When In Rome." :) Good Luck.

When Ted says, "Let's go out there and show Crystal Palace whose house this is," it's actually a meta joke, because the stadium they use for Richmond's home stadium is actually Cyrstal Palace's home stadium.

First two episodes are good, but the show really hits it stride during the next couple of episodes. Huge amount of character development that runs through the whole series plus introduction a few more characters. There is a reason that this series has gotten the response that it has. The journey has just begun.

My umbrella comment about Ted Lasso: They are exceptionally smart about NOT doing what you expect. They know the sit-com tropes and standard plots, and swerve right past them.

A couple of years ago, I was working at a retail store, and not only did I dress up as Ted for Halloween, but I spent a week baking boxes upon boxes of that Shortbread and brought them in to work to have Biscuits with the Boss-Ass B!tches I work with. But the most fun is that at the store, one of my jobs is to do presentations/classes for the store, so I did them completely in the Kansas accent and filled them up with a lot of Lasso-isms for fun. Unfortunately, not many people were out shopping on Halloween to see that, but it was still fun for me. :)
