Derek is probably THE MOST underrated rock vocalist of all time. He's not underrated to those of us who are fans but he just never got the recognition he so deserved. Even though in this performance they tuned down a half or a whole step to a lower key, Derek still has it.
@DizzyBizzy88
@DizzyBizzy88 Жыл бұрын
Tuning down 1/2 step here was almost certainly not to accommodate Derek, in that as of 2023, Derek's band still tunes to std. pitch for his solo artist live shows (where, of course, he does many Nugent songs that he originally sang). Ted's band started tuning down 1/2 step quite a while back (1995 or maybe earlier) when Ted unfortunately decided to be the primary lead singer. Will say I always loved Ted's primal screams...but not his singing!

YUP.. Derek has an unmistakable unique voice. Queen of the forest is one of my favorite Nugent tunes. Saw Derek solo a few times. One time he was supposed to open up for Trower but Ds bus was caught in the snow Just outside of Buffalo. He got to the Penny arcade at 1 o’clock in the morning, there was literally four people left in the club, it was a Sunday night, and a blizzard. He played his balls off! Great Dude!🤘🇺🇸💪

I saw Ted in Lansing at the civic center. Initially on the way there, because we were walking down the sidewalk, people were slowing and asking if we were going to he Nugent show. We then found out Ted had been in a crash on the way and the show had been cancelled. I must confess the "make-up" show was so fucking electrifying I remember it to this day. One of the best rock concerts ever and I can't explain why. He still had a bandage on his left cheek and it was probably the first time I ever saw him play a Les Paul. I'm getting "goose bumps" right now...........

I think so. In my opinion, Nugent's music took a major dive southbound after Derek left the band. Charlie Huhn was a good singer and even sounded like Derek, but the songs on "Weekend Warriors", "State of Shock", and "Scream Dream" weren't that good, plus the production on those albums was terrible. Made me wonder if Derek wrote most of the tunes for the albums he was a part of. I know for sure that his voice was greatly missed.

He STILL refused to go fight for his country. He ADMITS to not cleaning himself for a month in order to look crazy. Whether he actually shat and pissed himself in that time is irrelevant. He refused to fight for this country and now wants to pretend like he's some American patriot. If he was such a patriot, he would have went and risked his life for this country and it's cause, instead of sitting at home playing a guitar. "So I got my notice to be in the draft. Do you think I was gonna lay down my guitar and go play army? Give me a break!" And he admits to shitting and pissing himself in this interview. "Then two weeks before, I stopped eating any food with nutritional value. I just had chips, Pepsi, beer-stuff I never touched-buttered poop, little jars of Polish sausages, and I’d drink the syrup, I was this side of death, Then a week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. poop, piss the whole shot. My pants got crusted up."

I saw Ted in his intensities of of ten cities tour 1981 at cape cod colisuem Hyannis Massachusetts. Drank a fifth of Southern comfort straight 2 hrs before concert out in the parking lot. I got thrown down 3 flights of concrete stairs by 6 huge biker dudes because my hat was blocking there view. Security chased them out of there, but I was trying to regain myself from a big bone chip mising on my shin . Looked like a softball was bulging out of my leg. Went and diluted the so co with draft beers to treat the pain. The trip home takes 1.5 hrs , I did it in 35 min. In my 69 roadrunner 383 stick. The speedo needle stayed constantly below 120 mph with me Flippin the 4 bbl open and closed. The car peaks at 145 mph with 3:55 gears myself and 2 other people in the car. Slept for 2 hrs went off to work.

When Detroit was down in the dumps back in the '70s straight through the final '16 hoedown with President Trump in GR, The 'Nuge was always there to lift us up and encourage us with his talent that God gave him to share with us. This song was just the icing on the cake that blows away ANYTHING put out this century. ALL Snowflakes and Wannabe rockstars, you've been put on notice.
