I know quite a bit about cheese. This cheese is either Wisconsin white cheddar or brick cheese, or it is Vermont white cheddar, I am a cheese lover & I will know when I taste it, my wife just retired & we are going on a month long long foodie trip to Newark, New haven, Atlantic city( white house subs) philly & hitting a bunch of places I want to eat at that I have seen on the food network, burgers, hot dogs, diners, pizza, cheese steaks & no tourist traps like pat's & geno's, going where the locals eat

as unAmerican as it sounds ive never been a fan of cheeseburgers in gerneral but i can say that when i used to visit my father in Hartford Connecticut, we would take the trip to Teds and the burgers are absolutely damn incredible and are 100% worth the drive from NY for the burgers once every few months

I can't believe that some restaurants nationwide have not tried to copy or cook some similar burger to this. It looks tasty, and apparently ted's has been in business so long that they would have franchised by now if they were interested. I'm not looking for places to put ted's out of business, but they say central ct. Is about the only place these type of burgers are made. I live in rural ky., and my chances of being in central ct. Are maybe 1 percent

Steaming gives a bad taste to the meat. If steamed cheeseburgers taste good, alot of restaurants and chains would be doing it. However, steaming does make the cheese gooey and have a good texture.

I made the trip and I was disappointed. I thought the burger was dry and the flavor was nothing special. I actually enjoyed the fries more, although we ordered the cheese fries and they didn't need cheese. The cheese for the fries was steamed as well, and sitting on top of the fries, it hardened so quickly that we needed to cut it with our knives. I just pushed it to the side. Long story short: the burgers are average, the fries are good, the cheese is unnecessary.
