i never can get enough of Rory's impersonations. he's absolutely epic! it's too bad he didn't stay with Mock the Week doing that; it was a staple of the early seasons

Great impressions. This man is a comedian critic. Not someone who is to change the world.

Yes - good - I'm glad Rory has been able to introduce an international audience to the far from golden image Gordon has domestically. A little bit of objectivity was required for a man who may talk about big plans but who's fast approaching the May election, with Labour still 8 points behind in the polls. That's a closing gap, but I still don't see voter perception of him changing to a positive yet.

Not sure if you mean the TED presentation here is boring, or if you find Rory Bremner boring. If it is the latter then you are in the minority. Just take a look at the audience. They are splitting their sides. Maybe you just don't have a sense of humour

It's amazing how he has to downplay his Scottish heritage by calling himself English. Is he ashamed of being Scottish?

First of all, I am not sure if that was an American or a British audience he was performing in front of. Also, I only recently came across interviews which Rory gave, where he speaks about having been diagnosed with ADHD, which may also explain that remark. Having watched an interview Rory gave where that question came up, Rory said he considers himself to be SCOTTISH,. I believe it was a very recent interview he gave, meaning that it was done this year, based on his love of cricket. As a very proud Scottish person myself, I know for a fact that for most Scots Rory comes across as being more English than Scottish simply because it is a famous fact about Rory that he loves cricket, a very English sport, which is very much a minority sport in Scotland. However, if you simply type into the You Tube search bar Rory Bremner, you will see he has done several documentaries and documentary series about Scotland and Scots, including a whole series about Fighting Scots, which goes all the way back to the disaster that was Culloden up to the present day. Another documentary which Rory did was one called Rory Goes to Holyrood, which I think was done just before the 2014 referendum, which again, I found very interesting and educational. The documentary was about Rory coming home to Edinburgh, to do a stand up routine about the independence referendum, and I thought that for people who are not Scottish and who have never lived in Scotland, this documentary was also very informative. I have ALWAYS also admired the professionalism of Rory Bremner, whose shows you know are going to make you have an enormous laugh but also you will come away, perhaps, more informed than you possibly were before you went to one of his shows. I have to say that Rory Bremner has always been a hugely talented person, who makes the art of doing impressions look incredibly easy. I also think that, rather likee myself, Rory is becoming more proud of being Scottish and of Scotland as he gets older. i hink he is appreciating more and more that it means to be Scottish. Finally, I feel I have to mention that I think it is the creation of the Scottish parliament that has helped those who were not born in Scotland and who have never lived in Scotland to be able to separate out Scotland from England, and Scots from the English. Before, the people from America, for instance, used to refer to everyone from Britain as being English, that no longer happens since the creation of the Scottish Parliament, which we MUST keep, as it gives us an escape route at a time when England heads off and becomes an extreme far right country.

@rulesandwisdom Not at all, but as she said, those people can be wrong. What she says makes sense from a biological point of view. Merely dismissing it because other people say so is the first step on the path to dogma, which is something which we must avoid at all costs.
