And by the way Ted... Heating & Air men have a rough life, they just sit outside and rust away. 😁👌

Doesn't matter the size of the house or wealth of the customer, you make sure they are cared for. Wish I didn't live 100 miles from your service area.

Had a Trane package unit. Rusted away in 8 years, and that’s in north MS. You won’t catch me buying a Trane unit. I like your videos though, hard to find someone who is thorough in their work now

Ted...I've been an avid watcher and subscriber. Thanks again for all the vids you have been putting out for years. I got out of the trade 4 yrs ago and it's great to see that there are still some seasoned techs out there that take the time and the effort to make things right. You and Steve Lav rock!!!

Long time since I have seen a driveway like that. 2 cement tracks. That must go back to the 20's or earlier.

Good eye Ted. Nice repair and gas. I have to agree, those packaged units sure do put up with the elements. By design, I never liked the idea of them, on the ground or on the roof. Split systems make so much more sense if the structure will allow for them. Thanks to the landlord for getting a backup tech vs. tell the tenant "they can't come until the next day". That was sweet of him.

Would have done it the same way in that situation, Just hope your buddy pulls that blower out real quick and checks the heat exchanger, 10 years is about time for a crack in one of those Rheem/Ruud package units, about the same as the Carriers. All that rust that happens at the bottom of those collector boxes is a shame. Rheem sux! Also give your buddy a class on installing a proper hood between the unit and the house, butting the unit right up against the side of the house is just plain sorry!

Funny that I can buy a bbq grill made of stainless for 200 bucks but a multi thousand dollar unit like that sits and rusts. Planned obsolescence.

Package units are so ugly. Dead after 11 years, lol. Don’t buy package units unless you are a business and can put them on the roof.
