LOL! Bootsie's initial reaction mirrored that of my older Cavalier when we first introduced our second cavalier puppy into the household. The look said "it's not spending the night is it?!" This was followed by grudging acceptance to playing and sleeping together within a few weeks. Fast forward a year and the two are the best of friends and are inseparable.

So cute. I love watching adult cavaliers "tone down" their play (or discipline) for puppies. My cav "growls" like that when I play tug o' war with her. She's so powerful that she always wins. 😉

What a cute video. That reminds of the growling Winston does when he is playing with me or my wife and one of his favorite toys!

This is so cute precious and funny.. That first look and pull away of Bootsie.. But then that playful Cavie growl as we know has no vicious scary or meanness to it all.. Sweetest cutest growl.. Hope all is well and have a great weekend.. PS We are looking forward to the traditional Easter egg hunt.. Something we look forward to every year.. Won't be long now..

@@jeannyroptin4922 Hi Jenny.. Have to agree about Tag.. The video where Charles talked of Tag dying can really hear the sadness and hurt in his voice.. A sad loss in deed..

I'm sure the girls aren't the only ones who miss Teddy--I'm sure you and your wife do, too. Will he be coming back to you when Bella is no longer in season? Any leads on a home for him? I loved the play session between Teddy and Bootsie. The "play growls" were wonderful to hear. When looking at dog body language or dog vocalizations, context is always important and you can't take one specific thing (like these play growls) and think "aggression". You have to look at the context and the "whole dog" (the body language of the entire dog---from mouth to tail). There was absolutely no body language indicating aggression and the context was one of a fun game of tug-of-war. That was pure play and pure fun despite the "sound effects".

We truly hope that Teddy finds his forever home soon. It's unusual for a Cavalier puppy to remain unplaced for more than a week or two. The only thing I can think of is that many people found "COVID puppies" a few years ago when there was little to do besides spend time at home, and now maybe the market is saturated. In any case, whoever gets Teddy will be very lucky. He's sweet, handsome, playful, smart, active, and affectionate - everything you could ask of a companion dog.

Did teddy find a forever home?

Not yet. He is currently with the breeder, in the company of his brother. His brother looks very promising, and the breeder is keeping him.
