Such a great song. I didn't think anybody could come close to the original but he did an amazing job with it. I'm impressed! Great job Maggie. :D

Love me some Teddie Swims. This is the first song I heard him sing.
@mikenolan80442 жыл бұрын
I think perhaps he used a lot of air near the beginning and kept it milder was intended to let the emotion in the lyrics come through better. That is, not just a stylistic difference but a matter of intentional focus. Not that his singing was anything less than very good. Your reaction/analysis was really fine as you pointed out all of these techniques and subtleties he employed. Nice editing too. ❤

Teddy is a very rare type of story teller. When he sings he doesn't just sing the song, he tells the story behind the lyrics and makes you feel those emotions. And can you PLEASE listen to Marianas Trench. Their songs Astoria and The Killing Kind will take you on a trip just like this song did

For many people a non-perfect, but emotional and honest performance is a thousand times better than the "perfect" vocal. Music is for the soul and it speaks not in perfection, but in feeling. Teddy is just one example of what many people love about music and about artists being unique. He certainly is not the most refined singer....... he is someone that grabs your attention and holds it.

Really enjoy this man’s voice. Happy you liked it as well. I know he can be hit or miss, but that’s usually all about song choice as it’s pretty obvious he can (as you say) SANG. Now go kick some 🍑 with your performances this week- beard and all!

Love you Maggie, but I think you did let your operatic training get in the way of you enjoying the song a little bit. He wasn't trying to showcase his range or power, but his ability to project the emotions this song is supposed to express. Love your reactions Beautiful Maggie, keep them coming.

If you love Teddy Swims you chould check out Swedish Chris Kläfford. He is AMAZING! His kitchen session is so wonderful and unique. Like his cover of Chris Stapletons "Tennessee Whiskey" OMG! (pliz do not react to the AGT version of "Imagine" coz everybody rects to that one and it is so boring... like not again. His own version of "Imagine" from his kitchen sessions is so much better, but he has so many more songs...) Chris Kläfford

If you're going to record it, then record it. If you're collab, then do that. If you're going to react and analyze, that's fine But don't sing along thinking you're helping it. Record it and put it out there. You'll get more props. Juliard or Harvard, the real school is in the audience.

At ..”Inside my head” …the chord selection is “wrong”…. Ok… “ wrong”…( this time ) means… Not the same as the Bonnie R version…( but of course ) the artist can chose .. but the song has a beautiful dark somber color… and that chord choice take the song away from the beautiful sad midnight goodbye of lost love. Similarly… Mr Sims “ lilts upward” at the ends of his phrasing….executed nicely…. But again ( to me) that “ tails up” technique… “ brightens” the song….. Great song… great singer… but the producer or manager or Mr Sims…. SOMEBODY missed the mark on respecting the “ color” / tone/ setting of the song.
