Rasputin's prophecy about his death was actually quite accurate. He wrote a letter to the tsar in 1916 which said that if he was killed by peasants, the royal family would be fine, but if he was killed by the nobles, the royal family would not last more than 2 years. He was assassinated by a distant member of the royal family near the end of 1916 and in 1918, the entire family of the Tsar (the tsar, his wife, and children) were executed

I think Rasputin's probably one of my favourite historical figures. He's just such an interesting guy. This video barely touches upon half of the weird stuff surrounding him. There's so many strange stories surrounding this guy, it's hard to seperate the fact from fiction.

Have you ever watched the movie 'Anastasia'? The movie has an antagonist that goes by the name Rasputin, who also had connections with the royal family of Russia, however, he wants the family dead, and he has powers. I don't know for sure if the Rasputin in the movie is based off of the actual Rasputin, but after watching this video, I wouldn't exactly be surprised if the character was based off of the actual person

Fun historical fact: Although called "the Mad Monk"", Rasputin was never a monk. Also, some scientists believe that the poisoned sweet wine and cakes consumed by Rasputin actually may have had the effect of neutralizing the cyanide (in one study, rats fed sugar along with cyanide fared much better than rats fed only cyanide). I'm not sure how this research translates to humans since human trials cannot be carried out for obvious reasons. However it is an interesting theory.

I've always loved Rasputin. He's iconic. He was just a compulsive liar with incredible luck. They didn't talk about it in this video, but he was originally brought into the royal sphere to use his rumored "healing powers" on their son. Rasputin would pray over him and the son would briefly recover each time. They straight up thought he was magic.

It is all caused by hemophilia gene passed down by queen victoria! The gene entered the Russian royal family to further affected alexei. As heir to the throne, alexei condition make him viewed as not fit to rule. This could spark a coup or civil war and rebellion. Desperate to find a cure for at the time critically ill alexei, the king and queen met rasputin. He said some weird spell or sayings and “magically”, alexei condition improved (later discovered a complete coincidence). The queen, especially, feel a deep gratitude towards rasputin and grant him a formidable position in the government. A lot of accusations happened at the time that rasputin will come to the princesses rooms and stay up late at night, many people believe he molested the royal princesses, but the queen, blinded by misguided trust, ignore all the accusations. Upon giving ill advice to the king and queen about governance, rasputin, also being full blown mischievous, gain a lot of hatred and blamed for the incompetence shown by the king to rule. The already boiling uprising and coup against the royal family, even before rasputin came, erupt in full force in the face of lenin. With rasputin assassinated, lenin turn his eyes on executing the romanov family, all of them. For years, people thought anastasia, one of the princesses, survived the execution, but sadly she wasn’t . So it’s back to the fact that queen victoria hemophiliac gene help destroy the royal family and the monarchy of russia. Same thing happened to the royal family of Spain too, only this time, it is porphyria being passed down from queen victoria gene. So, the rebellion and the downfall of the monarchy of russia was imminent at the time, but hemophilia surely speeds things up for them.

Not completely accurate, they have no idea whether the guards of the ex-Tsar had killed him on their own behalf. Nobody knows if it actually was an assassination by Lenin. The White Army was gaining territory towards the ex-royals new home and before they arrived the guards killed them. It sucks we'll never truly know.

The communists wanted to try the tsar in Moscow, but when transporting the tsar, a large number of people wanted to intercept the tsar and lynch him. They even threatened the soldiers who were transferring them that they would kill them together with the tsar and tried to blow up the train with the tsar, but he was transferred to a parallel line. In Moscow they wanted to hold a trial for all crimes against the people committed with his approval (executions of peaceful processions of workers and many interesting cases of the secret police). but he and his family were shot on a forged letter from a man from the white movement that the tsar could escape the next day. On this occasion, Moscow gave permission to shoot the tsar, but not the whole family. Unfortunately, the order was not followed exactly. I don't feel sorry for the tsar, but his family was treated very badly. Sorry for google translate

Rasputin didn’t die of a bullet to the head, some sources claim that he died of hypothermia after falling in the frozen river. His autopsy showed water in his lungs which could be a sign that he was still breathing after falling into the lake. Very informative video nonetheless!

@LetsTryArtemy
@LetsTryArtemy Жыл бұрын
The 1916 autopsy report states nothing about water being in Rasputins lungs or anything about hypothermia. The official cause of death was the final bullet in the head. The rumor that Rasputin was still alive when they threw him over the petrovsky bridge was fabricated to make the story seem more grandiose and to make Rasputin seem more satanic, thus justifying his murder.

Also worth mentioning is that the tsars wife suffered extreme anxiety and rarely interacted with anyone outside the royal family. This anxiety was triggered by alexei’s bleeding episodes, and Rasputin’s presence calmed her down, which in turn calmed alexei down, lessening the bleeding. Nicholas II had said: better 10 rasputins than one of the empress’s hysterical fits. There’s also the placebo effect.
