I have a real story on an elephant. I live in Kerala , India and here there are lots of elephants. Both wild and domestic. Domestic once mainly used for temple festivals. In a festival with many elephants there a keshavan( male elephant). One crazy man throws a stone on him and man ran away. It's hurt the elephant he taken that stone and kept it with him for many years. Years passed away one day in a festival place elephant saw that man and he give it back to him.

But then I realized I should feel sad for humans, because though we are smart and creative, we don't use our intelligence to make the world better; though we're sympathetic, we don't always have the willingness or courage to stand for the disadvantaged, the voiceless or even people we love. What a pity.

She was laughing the whole time. Even when it got close to the water and took a drink and then shot it out through it's trunk at her face, she had the biggest smile on.

Once at a fair my mom saw a female elephant (she loves elephants) and she was clearly thirsty. She spent her entire day going back and forth between the elephant and a water point with a bucket to give water to the elephant. Three years later she saw her again, her owner has changed (she was way better treated... even if she sould be in nature) and when she saw my mom she litteraly petted her whith her trunk... Not sure what event you're referring to, but one elephant is one elephant the same way one human is one human. Just because one of them did something 'bad' doesn't mean they represent the whole species. Plus someone said that the elephant was taking revenge, so if that's the case this just demonstrates how the video got ot right.

My mom used to work for 15 years in a zoo that had two elephants. She has always been a huge animal lover and when she heard the zoo was searching for an employee she was overjoyed. Over the 15 years she had developed a strong bond with the elephants. One time she was cleaning in a barn, the elephant strated to examine her new walkie-talkie that she had got in the morning. After my mom prohibited that, so that the channels from it's radio wouldn't get messed up, the elephant stopped. After a while the elephant leaned her tusk's towards my mom, which was their play where the elephant lifted my mom to the fence to get scratching. So my mum grabbed her tusk snd she lifted her like they had used to, but this time she let my mom to hung in a fence and my mom wondered what it was all about. Then she felt the elephant strarting to test for buttons from the walkie-talkie with her trunk, because the elephant new my mom wouldn't let her to do so otherwise. As I have understood the fence wasn't that high and because of their long relationship mom was rather amused than frightened about the event. And she learned that it was better showing everything new to the elephant and letting her to examine for a while, because then it wouldn't bother her. My mom would have many stories about the elephant that I haven't heard, but this is the one that shows how intelligent being an elephant is. She has also told me that when she had been in a hospital a while for giving birth and therefore weren't able to go to work. The elephant would give her a silent treatment after she had returned. My mom was trying to talk her to come meet her in the doorway but she insisted it by standing facing in different direction. After a while my mom told that she would be leaving and strated to walk towards the door but the elephant grabbed her with her trunk before she would have left and they hugged each other's. I couldn't help but tell these stories for it touches me everythime thinking about it. What a wonderful beings!

PTSD is not a joking matter, for humans or elephants. Humans can get treatment for it; elephants cannot. How can you not think a baby elephant seeing its mother killed and humans cutting off her tusks not be affected by it? The mother may have even been fully alive and suffering while the humans were cutting off her tusks. If a dog can be beaten and keep a memory of the person or type of person who beat it and later attack that person or someone like it (a type of PTSD), how it is so outlandish an elephant will also?
