I'm a 70 yr old bass player been playing since I was high school but, in 1978 got in a bad car accident and limited with just 2 1/2 fingers, nice to see someone playing note for note so it's easier to learn for some like me thanks

Excellent video!!! This bassline sounds kind of intimidating when I'm just listening to the song, but the way you explained this bassline makes it easy to understand what's being played and easy to learn it.

I know this is old brother, but since Covid-19 I've picked up my old Yamaha BB2000 & started doing what I should have done over 30 years ago. Practice! This is one of my favorite bass lines of all time. Great lesson with funky playing. A lot of teachers forget that final ingredient. The groove!! You got it!!

Thanks good sir! You and Delucca are awesome. I am trying to remember progressions and chords, and the like. I had double digit heart attacks/AFib attacks (mis-diagnosed, I have AFib. All is well now have right Meds) the past 3 years and topped off with colon surgery this past Feb 2016, so muscle memory and memory has my timing off. This is great assistance in exercising my muscles and thought process. Checking out the rest of your vids. Up 3am practicing because of this. Thanks again. 👍🏽👏🏽😁

Great lesson ! As a heavy metal fan, i love playing along to bands like Iron Maiden ! but i do enjoy getting my head around groovy bass lines like this. This is pretty easy when you sit down and watch you. Had it all off after an hour ! Greetings from Ireland mate !!

Thanks for this lesson. It's far more accurate than another version I saw online. I had to learn this after watching the Philly voters dancing to a Ain't No Stopping the Count play on this great song.

Great lesson, it's good that you put as much emphasis on feel as which notes to play. I'm surprised though that there are a number of lessons on this song by established tutors but they all seem to play it differently. I don't know which is correct but I prefer your version. It seems to groove much better than the others.
@TedTalksBass5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I think that all of these songs are really about having the core of the original line and then being able to do your own thing with it. Rarely have I played with an artist or band that wants a bass player to rigidly play exactly what’s on the record.

I like how your 5 string bass strings is spaced apart very well all the down to the head, because my 5 string bass strings or pretty close and gives me problems with playing what's your neck width
