You can find Speedsters in a broad spectrum of condition. But If you want a car with incredible history, original parts AND a fully built hot rod powertrain from Wilhoit you'd be looking at $600,000. And it's worth every bit of it. Thanks to Bond Group for this rare drive

I think that cars like this are fun because you can use the whole car between 0 and ~100 mph. You don't need an unlimited autobahn before the car feels engaged. You can easily drive the car at 9/10's at 55 or 60 mph. 25mph turns taken at 35mph are fun!

I have to say that dog-legged 5 speed works beautifully with the speed at which the flywheel drops revs, makes it super smooth and easy to handle, incredible work by Wilhoit for what is essentially artisanal. Stunning looks, great sound, good power, its near perfect really.

Tedward, thank you for your reviews! Not only have I learned so much from them, I’ve also had great entertainment watching them, especially with my family. Porsches in my opinion are probably the best German car brand, Atleast looks/driving wise. Also, it was great meeting you at Llarz Anderson a few months ago!

Fantastic video. As others have said you produce the video in such a way that one feels like they are driving the car. The shifter seemed very smooth on this car. Looked like low effort to switch gears which I think makes manual more fun to drive. Very nice!

I cannot think of a better vibe for such car than this. On top of that your jacket looks like it's made of leather unless I directly pay attention to it and that + those gloves is also such a vibe setter. As for the car itself, needless to say it's gorgeous, but man, that rear end looks so damn mean when you don't see that cute body shape. All those tiny rear lights, chrome details and two thin, long center exhaust pipes come together in a phenomenal way. On top of that, the engine itself matches the looks of the car's rear end. Looks very mean and powerful yet classy.

Damn, that is one beautiful Speedster! I sat in a 356 C a few months ago for the first time in my life and I was instantly catched. I did not have them on my radar, but I really love them since then. I can only imagine how it must feel driving one!! I also love the way you treat the cars. I can really feel the mechanical sympathy you have. Wonderful!! 🥰
@griffins75011 ай бұрын
My only objection is that there are a lot of cars that can give a properly “visceral” experience. Journalists like Jason Cammisa or his friend Derek Tam-Scott preach consistently about cheap visceral cars and expensive visceral cars alike because it’s not so much of a “You’ve tried everything and then got to a Speedster” it’s more so that you just don’t care about speed and numbers like 0-60 as much as you care about having a unique and visceral experience. Jason’s favorite car in the entire world, despite driving literally thousands of cars is a mk2 Volkswagen Scirroco 16valve! There are so many other classics and even some modern cars like the GR86 that prioritize fun and experience just like the Speedster, and yet with cars like the GR86 or Miata we complain that they aren’t fast enough because they don’t pull a 3-4 second 0-60 and cost as much as a 4 Bedroom home! I guess that’s not really an objection but it’s 100% a source of frustration!

Absolutely gorgeous! However, ~$600K to use as a “driver,” and road trips?? Only if you have $30M in the bank. 😢 Also, having been hit head on by a driver on a country road on his phone, and encountering numerous other close calls for the same reason I do jot trust my fellow human with my life. A Ford F150 or Chevy Tahoe hitting you would leave you as road paste. Unfortunately that reality has limited my desire for such amazingly fun machines (and motorcycles). Thanks for a great video ride along!!

13:00 You could possibly know because we got to yield for those to our right hand side, and that's why you in your position in this video will automatically have to yield for those to the left as well because it would cause dangerous situations if you just parked right in the middle of their lane to wait for an open slot.

@a8f23511 ай бұрын
@@griffon2-6 Ok, so it's a stop sign he wants. In that case I can say that this will always be a grey area, and you have to understand that when we have stopped(There's a big difference between having to stop 100% of the time no matter, compared to "use your head, and you have been warned...") it will obviously take us longer time to reach the speeds of other traffic and that by default offers a risk. No matter what sign is where we should always use our head and evaluate what will apply the best to which ever situation. Traffic laws is more of a guidance to help create a foundation of understanding. Personally I believe this yield sign is correctly applied, because you are thereby forced by law to yield for ANY traffic in ANY direction, and if that doesn't alert you then maybe you should hand over your drivers licence and take an eye exam in the same go.
