Ahhh that V8 sounds so healthy! I’d recommend also trying the 3.0 Duramax. It’s incredible how great the fuel economy is (close to 30 mpg highway), and the sound is really nice. Pulls reasonably well too. From what I’ve been seeing, much more reliable than the 3.0 V6 diesel Dodge is using.

You know its bad when the work trucks are better to see out of because they don't get jacked up on factory lifts. Even an LT is like nearly 3-4 inches higher off the ground than the WT and the space between the tire and the wheel well is so badly large it looks like the dealer forgot to take out the spring spacers for easier loading off the hauler. I can't believe we just sell people vehicles like this, lmao. I swear first gen Colorados are jumping in price now because people realize just how much easier to live with as an actual truck they are compared to new models.

@zoomzoom3839
@zoomzoom3839 Жыл бұрын
That’s the biggest problem with GM, they make very attractive vehicles with lots of cool features. But the quality is so inconsistent in their products, and it’s the little things like the creaks and rattles. The shaky panels. In a truck with less than 5k miles. What’s it gonna be like after 200k miles? Compare it to the quality of a Toyota vehicle, like your 2015 Tundra, after 7-8 years 150k miles and shows no signs of wear and tear.

Not to mention the design in some places is kinda whack. There’s just one stock for the turn signals and windshield wipers on the left side. No stock on the right so it’s perfectly open for a column shifter a classic truck design, but no they got that cheap looking plasticky gear lever mounted to the center console and it’s just taking up space for a storage space or cup holder. Just really strange.

The thing is , The ZR2 will run Baja much more comfortably than a Raptor in Bison trim, you will not be doing more than 100 mph, in the desert and the motor will easily push the truck past that. Duratracs are definitely on the noisy side, even among other tires in that class. You have to rotate them every 5000 miles if you want to keep the road noise in check. They are horrible if you rotate every 10k. You don't have to turn the headlights on with the touchscreen in the Colorado, they come on automatically. But for if some reason you want to turn the headlights off while driving down the highway, yeah you'll have to search for the screen to turn them off. Not sure why so many people are concerned with having that ability, but it's a weird country these days...

The Multimatic spool valve shocks are better than Fox shocks. It's the other suspension components Ford uses in the rear that make the difference. There are upsides and downsides to the suspension design for both. They are both very similar but very different trucks. The Raptors have softer springs for the style of offroading it's optimized for. The ZR2's are a bit stiffer so it still does well with payload but it can still run pretty hard off-road. Chad Hall Racing is doing a lot of cool stuff with the Colorado and Silverado ZR2's. GM's recent trucks are one of the better executed products they do these days. It's unfortunate that some 2022-23 6.2's and 5.3's had lifter issues due to a supplier sending them out of spec springs.

What are you smoking that you think the truck that has more sidewall and specially tuned offroad suspension is going to be harsher on road. Why do you think the zr2 can tow less than other models.
