About Chris Orwig
Chris Orwig is a celebrated photographer, author and teacher. He is on the photography faculty at the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA and he is the author of numerous best-selling books. More importantly, Chris brings unique perspective, creativity and passion to all that he does. As a photographer, he subscribes to Marc Riboud's observation that "Photography is about savoring life at 1/100th of a second." For Chris the adventure is now, and the journey has already begun -- discover, look, listen, learn and live.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. First time I saw Chris' work was when I took his Lynda course on Adobe Camera Raw. I learned about the tool itself in great detail, but I also saw a perfect execution of instruction by a perfectionist. It was done in a really pure passionate and dedicated way. All this from a course on a tool that seem so minor at first, which later reveals itself to be an integral part of everything you do.
