I started inviting my boyfriend to come see me skate and while he was there he would just stay quiet and usually walk away. I confronted him about it and he just changed the subject about how he doesn't know how many guys I've been with even though we were already engaged. He was hurt that I was making more money than him, knew how to skate and play guitar. I swear SOME man can be so damn fragile and insecure.

@@bugchingy I wouldn't be surprised if she's been single ever since. Because with an attitude like that, it's probably fairly hard to like someone like that. Assuming the story is even true to begin with. But clearly the boyfriend had other issues with her that were not related to skateboarding _at all_ . Yes, he sounds fragile and insecure. But what if he just was and it has nothing to do with you skating or making money? Heck, most men would be happy if a women has a job and contributes to what could become a family. The projection and extrapolation of what happened is insane. That guy wasn't the first to get cold feet and doubts after getting engaged. It's pretty typical to blame the guy and bring up unrelated facts, when it might be a simple case of two people not being meant for each other. There are plenty of other guys/girls out there.

I love this video and am impressed because she's a fellow NYawker and have seen her in videos and know how easily curse words will roll off her tongue.

So a few weeks ago I saw a skateboarding video and though that maybe it'd be fun to try and learn. I still have to save a lot of money (in my country everything is more expensive) but luckily, nowadays there's a whole community of skater girls empowering each other and I have people to look up to, besides the fact that my male best friend will be teaching me the basics. Being a girl is so great and nothing can make me think otherwise anymore

In the early days of skateboarding there were a lot of female skateboarders that were pretty much pro at the time (like Patti Mcgee). Sadly, they dont get spoken much about today.

Me and my friend are beginners and we just started skating a couple of days ago. We go skate in the centre on my city and different roads which are clear. I can’t do any tricks yet but I can kinda just ride around.
