This is just superb, I've been looking for "coaching football kids" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Elilan Coachify Domination - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my friend got great results with it.

Thank you for this. I’ve been looking for that quote ‘it’s not the skills you teach, it’s the words you use’

Coach Reed's presentation succinctly and clearly puts into words a topic that has had much discussion amongst coaches, players, and parents for decades. It brings the topic to the forefront for those whose echoes are negative in nature and provides encouragement to those who have consistently strived to keep their impact exclusively positive. Hopefully, this will become required viewing for coaches in many organizations!

+David Mitchell Wow. Been trying to think of the best words to answer this comment (pun intended). I am at a loss because of the gravity of your thoughts. If this is a conversation that needed to happen for decades, I hope we can continue it on a larger level and am glad I have great coaches supporting this. Your endorsement means a great deal given your long coaching background. Thanks, my friend. I would jump on a plane tomorrow to share with anyone who wants to create more players beyond the game. We all have an echo, let's make it positive.

Finally someone said what we've all been secretly thinking about our coaches!!!
@CoachReed9 жыл бұрын
Tell them. Players and parents have the power. You pay the fees. Youth sports is the only place I know where we willingly pay to be abused and never speak up about it. Anywhere else we would ask for a refund.

So true, brings memories of being trained by a coach that basically encouraged me and made me feel elevated, my football game went up a lot.

This short video is nothing short of amazing. And these words reverberate so much further than the sports field or court. But more importantly, to the classroom.

Coach Reed is right, the lasting power of a coach's words can benefit or harm a player's confidence and willingness to improve in any particular sport. From my personal experience when I was a soccer player, my high school coach didn't believe in me, called me names and wouldn't even let me play even during scrimmages. I basically sat on the bench in the hot sun and trained for nothing it hurt me in such way that i basically quit playing soccer since then and I don't even believe in myself anymore 🙁

Xanny Evangelista Very sorry to hear you had a coach like that. I hope we can change this for the next generation. People like your coach have no place in youth sports.

Thank you for making a difference. I hope your words reach and resonate with our youth sports coaches and make a lasting impact. We need to continue reminding coaches of their real purpose - great job!

Thank you! I love what you are doing for parents. I get frustrated with the us vs. them attitude in youth sports. We should be embracing parents as partners in the process. Looking forward to November 6-8 and getting to spend time masterminding.

Reed - great talk. Hope all is well! I am currently teaching a course called Religion and Sports at The Catholic University of America in DC. We talk about the power of sports to elevate both competitors. This term, I'm showing my students your talk here in addition to the talk from Jim Thompson and the Positive Coaching Alliance. Well done! Go Bombers!

@CoachJeffP5 жыл бұрын
If helpful, you can turn on Closed Captioning for English subtitles. You can also use a separate voice dictation app (from your phone perhaps) to play it from one device and dictate to a text doc. Then use Google Translate for the text. Not ideal, but free and pretty simple.
