I graduated February 2018. Got my first job in research May 2018, contract ended December 2018. Second job as a salesperson December 2018, resigned due to burnout and depression October 2019. Unemployed since then. Spent the rest of 2019 and most of 2020 being depressed and suicidal. Now running my own small clothing business, freelancing for a digital agency, and helping people learn English and use it i daily life. Whether or not I can have to lunch tomorrow still haunts me everyday, but at least I am free to live life they way I always wanted to. To be a useful human being. If I'm gonna die, I'm gonna have to die being useful.

So profound. A similar story to mine which I detail in my book "honouring the Vision" Never stop trying. Now in my story I detail how to unravel that inner voice that allows you to see yourself outside of what society sees. Because that is how you ultimately learn to start living out your vision/purpose.

You have inspired me Tabitha by sharing your experience with unemployment. It is necessary that unemployed graduates understand that their value and identity is intrinsic so that they do not define themselves based on their employment status . This is extremely important in maintaining mental health. Congratulations dear, continue with the good job of mentoring young people in society.

Lost my job due to COVID 19 pandemic, currently going through the unemployment phase. I could resonate with her on so many levels. Like her, I also wanted to study medicine, but couldn't because I couldn't achieve a good score to get myself admitted into a medical school. Instead, I had to choose business and worked hard to land a job. After getting my first full-time job and working there for more than a year, I got a call from my HR and heard that I lost my job. It gets really hard to stay sane when you are unemployed, applying to various places and getting rejected or getting no calls every time, and on top of that, this pandemic is not ending in anytime soon. I can see the frustration and sadness in my parents' eyes. The uncertainty of the future and the fear of it can be very daunting.

The world is moving beyond graduating and looking for work. We must now look for problems to solve while in school, and begin solving them. By the time we graduate, we will have real world solutions to real world problems, delivering value that attracts compensation beyond what a job can give. Not everyone can receive this wisdom because more people prefer poverty. All the best to everyone currently unemployed. It’s your season to begin solving problems and getting paid for it.

Your story is my story. All i have lost, including 2x jobs along the way, going overseas and all. but i can say that all of it happened for my good. God is purposeful. we better entrust our lives to his omnipotence. he never fails (Jer 29:11). The journey is never meant to be easy but meaningful. So never centre your life around your self and your self enriching desires. Life is better and bigger than that - it is better extended and shared with others- especially those less fortunate than us. And therefore God's name will be glorified in this world. its not about us. "What you do for others lives on forever". Amen to that my sister!

Value - is in the organisations you work for. I have a personality and a skill set despite not working. I need to also find my value. Opportunities are where you are. Opportunities can be created right where you are. Serving others. Indeed I look after my mother and I can't do much

This is just brilliant so inspiring and timely in for me right now.I am not unemployed but sit in that space of ‘something else’ which she refers to at the end. Thank you for aging your story.

I love this talk with all my heart, Tabitha's story is so touching. And yet as a fresh graduate who's grappling with her mother's cancer AND unemployment, I feel stuck. And I can't embrace this. I also don't feel like "leadership" material, never had been as an introvert. I also feel a spiritual dissonance with my own community and the urge to flee from it all sometimes overwhelms me. I just see myself working for people- people whom I can feel at home with- and blend in the background. Ugh.

Hang in there. I don't know where people go off with becoming leadership material but everything starts somewhere, and some people need guidance - like mentors and life coaches - in order to get to that level (it's not an overnight thing, for goodness sake!). Start small, you are unemployed and claim yourself an introvert. That means that you cherish the people you share your vulnerable sides to. You can share your situation and your goals (despite how unreachable they seem to you) to the people you trust the details of your problems most. See if they know other people who you can contact in hopes of finding hired help of some way.

You may feel as you speak of now. But if you read the bible and remember the story of Gideon, you will know that there is more in you than you may realize. Look up

Saraf in the midst of our greatest challenge, things die so that new things can be born. To be sure, death is painful. Death of self as we sacrifice for others. Death of dreams. Death of loved ones. Nevertheless, at such time we must trust the process. There are certain laws and principles that are certain. If there is seedtime, harvest is on its way.

Radiating from this lady is that she is a crazy lover of Jesus. She is a highly intellectual academic who knows how to preach the gospel without naming the verses. I really enjoyed her. She is a powerhouse.
