I am shocked that so few people have watched this! This is one of the best Ted Talks. Don't let the heavy accent deter you. And there was some very funny stuff that the people failed to get. Very insightful.

I am blown away by how articulately the speaker has woven so many diverse topics into a single narrative!! Bravo indeed. Loved his confidence throughout the speech. I agree with whatever he said about creativity.

Yes Yolanda, good catch, I thought the sound is disconnected, but I believe people there were highly focused and ( Serious) :) perhaps! we all need to develop the skill on how to maintain having fun through our journey in life to learn and perform on our best .

I think they did laugh, because you can see him smiling in response to the audience...it's just that we're only getting the very focused sound from his headset microphone. It's simply not picking up the "background noise" of the audience.

I would say a much under rated talk by an educated mind. It's hard to get content like this is TEDx as so many undeserved people are using this platform to showcase themselves and utter nonsense topics than share knowledge. Good work by this man.

One of the best TEDx talks. Highly recommended. Not because its very complex and creative, but because its nicely put together. Kudos Dr. Pavan.

"Not because it's complex and creative but because it's nicely put together" This sounds like a terrible back-handed compliment. Please try to construct your sentences properly which might come off twisted even though you might mean well.

Very informative, and beautifully presented. The key take away for me as young countries in Asia and Africa and elsewhere struggle to provide economic opportunities to their youth is to impart the attitude and self-confidence (and bit of ecosystem support) to take half-chances. In India at least, we have been trained to deify Dhoni, but not think of analyzing and emulating the Dhonis. Thanks for showing the way. Best wishes Pavan. I have always found in you a zeal to be creative and useful whenever I have met you, albeit long ago.

Creating cames from our thinking & also use opportunity whatever we had. Every jobs spread on more opportunities but only few people's are used that opportunity so they look like big stars in front of people's. Think creatively definitely we will achieve our dreams in right way.

Really liked the correlation between IQ, inhibition (attitude) and creativity. However, for that to happen organizations should adopt the culture where everyone is encouraged to express their ideas without fear of being reprimanded for speaking out their mind. In my opinion, that is what happens most of the time in majority of the organizations.

@@gururajkulkarni343 thank you. I’m up to 530 pieces of Art now and neurologists are saying I’m drawing with genetic memory. The cool thing is… I’m improving rapidly. And I have all 7 habits spoken of in the video and then some. It was spot on though. And interestingly I only need 4 hrs of sleep everyday.

Schizophrenia is not always characterized by paranoia and hallucinations. A common symptom is delusions and often the delusions are paranoid. But many people with schizophrenia do not have paranoia. And not all people with schizophrenia have hallucinations. I have trouble understanding how the brains of creative people and schizophrenics would be similar other than schizophrenics often experience/perceive life in very different ways. Schizophrenia is a progressive brain disorder that destroys much of the brain. Often the most disabling symptoms of schizophrenia are those that are labeled "negative" -- which have to do with impaired relationships, withdrawal, and isolation. Paucity of thought can be one of these symptoms which would be an antithesis of creativity.

For anythimg to be considered genuinely creative it must be both inspiring and inspired. All else is mere mechanical inventiveness. And is the province of the mechanical rather than the creative. Creative people don't have hobbies. Their 'work' is their hobby. Since when are scientists and technologists considered to be 'creative'? Surely they are more mechanical than anybody.
