yes, it's a fact. it happened to me too T.T but like Chantelle Brown-Young said "I didn't ask to have this skin condition" yes, me too, I don't want it. same with my friend's parents, they didn't want their child to have vitiligo like me. yeah but it's painful because actually it is not contagious and I've told everyone. fortunately, my real friend never leave me. I'm lucky to have her in my childhood, my most difficult condition.

I met a guy with vitiligo who had a mustache that was half dark and half light, divided roughly right down the middle. He was wearing a shirt with a design of a mustache on it that was half dark and half light. I'd never met the guy before, but I was impressed by his sense of humour for wearing a shirt like that, so I walked up and told him that I liked it and we ended up having a fifteen-minute-long conversation.

The beauty that grows from a self accepting heart is priceless. And universally recognizable to those with eyes to see. The lesson God painted on Chantelle's skin is that every one IS beautiful. I also have vitiligo but i've had treatment and now it is less visible.. my skin tone is very clear and so it has never been so visible but when I was a kid, at school, especially if I was suntanned other kids looked at me and they said: "What's on your eyes? Why your skin on your eyes is so white?" I felt really ashamed of my skin and I said to my mama that I wanted to do something to treat vitiligo. My parents spent a lot of money only to cure some little marks, I had to move to Rome every time from Naples (about 230 km) and nowadays on my eyes it's like I have freckles because of the pigmentation.. when I started therapy, in fact, people started to say: "Do you have freckles on your eyes?".. it seemed to me like an odyssey. When I grew up I started to mask my marks with make up and today I can't go out with any make up on my eyes.. your story touched me, I felt very stupid, stupid because of my shame, stupid for all the shame felt only for little marks, your vitiligo is impressive but impressive is your beauty despite of the vitiligo, impressive is the fact that despite of your vitiligo I noticed at first your beauty and your smile, impressive is your COURAGE, the message you want to communicate. I think we are more or less equal in age, I'm twenty but I can see you as a model. Your beauty comes out from your smile, from your words, your beauty is above all inside you.. however you have perfect features, really beautiful eyes and a breath-taking body... thanks Chantelle, you're a wonderful person

Uniqueness is what's attractive.. I have thought she was drop dead gorgeous from the moment I saw her. As a mom to two daughters,11 yr old and 3 yr old, I love seeing ppl like her FINALLY being thought of as good enough and pretty to society. It's one thing to tell your daughters that being unique is amazing but for them to have an actual person to look up to is awesome. Race, ethnicity etc doesn't matter, my daughters and I are white and I have more than raised them to not see color and that's what makes her so awesome.

What is attractive in a person? Is being who you are and accepting yourself the way you are. Everyone is special the way God created them.

I like how she mentioned how she was a bully... because she was a bully in middle school... and I can say this, because she was my sister's bully. I remember stories of that school, and the girl who had blond streaks in her hair before it was cool. How that girl was bullied, and ignored by many including the other bullied kids like my sister. I think its interesting that when she said the comment on the hair in her talk... i thought of that girl

Her confidence, her accent, her mentality. The wisdom that developes with life experiences is meant to be passed along. Please take away a lesson with each Ted talk you watch.
