2012 - I had melanoma in the brain, both lungs, liver, kidney, gall bladder and spinal cord. I was so fortunate to be placed in the first clinical trial of ipilimumab and nivolumab at Yale - New Haven Hospital. After two craniotomy, three Gamma Knife radiations and the clinical trial, I was free of cancer after eight months. Ten years later, still cancer free, many thanks Dr. Allison and Dr. Honjo. Side note: Dr. Allison was asked, which was more exciting, meeting the Pope or playing with Willie Nelson. Dr. Allison’s reply was that it wasn’t a fair question.

This man has saved and is saving many lives with his knowledge and passion. My daughter is at MD Anderson benefiting from his developements on the Cancer front on this very morning. Thank You Mr. Jim!!!

Velvett, I wish the absolute best for your daughter and you. When your daughter experiences side effects, please have her report them to her on oncology team. There are treatments to counter the side effects. Please read my post on this page.

I have renal cell carcinoma in my lungs. I’m having great results with daily oral chemo and immunotherapy every 3 weeks for almost a year. My oncologist studied under him at MD Anderson. Thank you Dr. Allison!

I've been doing a ton of research on various cancer treatment options and focusing on treatments like this. My dad has been dealing with multiple myeloma for 13 years and I refuse to accept it can't be cured. Keep up the good work!!
