There's no such thing as a "perfect Christian"
@RB-bd5tz
@RB-bd5tz 3 жыл бұрын
According to the Bible, there is. We should define "perfect" from how it's used in the Bible to describe people. From the verses below (and there are more than this) it would seem to mean: attempting to follow the example of Jesus as best you can, being forgiven of your sins (having them erased from your record) and repenting (abandoning sinful habits), doing good works, and being united with other Christians. Matthew 5:48 "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Luke 6:40 "The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master." John 17:23 (Jesus praying regarding His disciples) "I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one [i.e. unity of mind and purpose] ..." 2 Timothy 3:17 "That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." James 1:4 "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." James 3:2 " ... If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body."

Then he wasn't Jewish. The modern Jewish Hebrew language was developed long after Moses and the flood, about 400BC. Their version of Hebrew has no similarity to the Paleo-Hebrew language in use by the writers of the Old Testament. If the people who identify as the Jewish racial groups today were the Hebrews of ancient biblical script, they would not have developed their own language and call it Hebrew. They would have simply improved upon their original Hebrew language and we would find the Paleo-Hebrew roots within their version and this does not exist. The racial group of the Paleo-Hebrew language would be the genetic lineage of Israel. Did the people who call themselves Jews reinvent themselves in 400BC?

Aramaic, Greek, Hebrews, Italian, and likely many others were the languages spoken in scripture. Someone translated them at some point in time using understanding from their time and context into Latin. It is retranslated, updated, etc by people over time using their best judgement from their historic contexts. That people would be willing to condemn a whole group of people based on a very few passages that may or may not apply to that group and which has been translated and retranslated over time by various peoples from various contexts without even entertaining the POSSIBILITY they could have less than clear understanding is insane.

I like how the two ministers talk about not twisting scripture, and look at the entire context, then they go ahead and twist scripture and not look at the entire context. The bible is supposed to be a book that teaches righteousness and love, yet when people accept sin and corruption as okay and acceptable just to please some political agenda, you're not loving people - you're misguiding them. Sin is a sin, and we're all sinners. We come before God and thank Jesus for his sacrifice to deliver us from sin. We don't go ahead and say well now we're saved, it is okay to keep sinning. Instead, we study the scripture to know right from wrong and we discipline ourselves to prevent our sinful nature from taking control. Likewise, we shouldn't tell people that what they're doing is okay, just to make them feel better about themselves. When people say homosexuality is not a sin and is okay, they're only going to trip these people from following God. You should love them because we're all children of God, but instead of saying what they're doing is okay, you need to guide them and make them better. A good example is mental disorders such as depression. You shouldn't threaten, mock, or seclude people with depression and other mental disorders, nor should you say that feel depressed and suicidal is normal and they're totally okay. Instead, you need to show them love and support and help them get better.

This flesh; this corruptible shell we reside in. God is seeking that which resides in that shell, that fleshy house; The Spirt. As long as we live on earth, we will always be separated from God. We must move away from, "your "sin" is worse than mine." Your flesh is not worse than mine because it is ALL SIN in HIS eyes. And I would never treat a person that killed someone on purpose without it being self-defense bad even though I knew it was a sin. I just would not treat anyone bad even though I knew what they were doing was a sin including a man that would lay with another man as if it was a woman even though I knew it was a sin. And I wouldn't go around wearing a shirt promoting any of the things that they were doing like that even though I knew it was a sin. I know no one is perfect. I find it interesting when I talk to someone who says that the Bible must be taken literally. So I ask, "So you believe that the universe was created in six twenty-four hour days?" Of course they always say yes. I ask about a few other stories just to establish that yes, they firmly believe that every single word must be taken literally. So then I say, "I see you have both of your hands, and both of your eyes. So you have never used your hands to commit a sin, you have never looked at a woman and thought, hhhmmm?" They inevitably say well Yeshua didn't mean to literally cut off your...I interrupt them at that point and say "Oh no you just said that every word is meant to be taken literally. So why is that action not meant to be taken literally?" At this point, they usually just walk away.

No, don't lie for them and give into their delusion! Not only do the best child psychologists say doing that is the WORST thing to do, and you're supposed to lovingly affirm their true gender (watch videos from the channel Mass Resistance), but thousands of ex-LGBT members say the same thing. There's nothing wrong with being a handsome young man. He has demons affecting him. My testimony: After being an atheist for 8+ years, and married to another female, I got the urge one day to say out loud "IF there is an Almighty God that does NOT wish us pain or sorrow, please bring me truth, I wish to know you exist". Then God immediately started bringing me the answers I had been searching 8-11 YEARS for! I witnessed Him take control of my internet and the rest of my reality; He first proved to me that demons exist (I called them "inter-dimensional beings"), then He proved His own existence, which I later found to be Jesus Christ. As soon as I found Jesus at the end of 2020, He IMMEDIATELY took away my transgenderism, bisexuality, depression, daily suicide attempts, self harm, bulimia and anorexia; and He did this all without me asking Him to, because THAT'S how merciful and loving He is! Praise God! I suggest pleading the blood of Jesus Christ over him every single day, and binding and rebuking the demons affecting him daily, and pray against those demons in Jesus' name. Pray for his protection and to feel comfortable as the boy he is and to reject those demonic thoughts and feelings. Lovingly affirm his true gender and never contribute to his confusion by using dishonest titles, use his real name & gender. Lovingly feed him the Word, and maybe even find the right time to mention that it's demonic & try to guide him to deliverance of demons and salvation. This is a spiritual battle 100%! God bless you in Jesus' name❤

I understand that a lot of it may be very hard to believe, but sometimes we don’t always take it literally or it doesn’t apply in the exact same way. For example, many people in the Old Testament married family members, which we wouldn’t dream of doing nowadays. Joe, you are lacking faith, and I have to admit that a lot of times I do too. But don’t give up. And you sound very committed if you read the whole Bible. God sees your effort and will reward you. Ask with faith, and you shall receive. I’ll be praying for you my friend:). And hey, something just popped into my mind: I think you should go to a Bible study. I’m sure many churches near you will have it. LizAgr71 No they don't. Atheism is the lack of belief, there is no doctrine and nothing to follow. Is the lack of belief in bigfoot also a religion? Religions are cults that follow a common core belief. Rejecting that belief isn't a religion. Shows that you don't think for yourself but regurgitate the nonsense that is spoon feed to you. Atheism by definition can't be a religion or belief system.

It's a good talk, but they sadly left 5 of the 6 texts/scripture parts about homosexuality out :/ The same Paul that was mentioned condemns the act of gay sex. (1Cor 6 somewhere around the 10th verse I think) So there really isn't a way where it is allowed. Note: The bible never condemns being gay, just the act... But then again, if you say: "Who even cares about what the bible says, stories of thousands of years ago" why should you care about what the bible says about anything???

David Rutgers Sure, but it will be long winded. I also don't pretend to be an expert in theology in any way, I have found this argument in articles and interviews with experts in theology, and I'll try to reply with sources, but I basically have committed this to memory. Ok so essentially what is important to remember with the letters written by Paul, is that they are letters written usually to a specific people. The letter he wrote to the Romans is different than the letter he wrote to the Corinthians. They have the same theme and message, essentially, but Paul was actually really good at paying attention to his audience. The different groups he wrote to all had different perceptions of Christianity, they all had different traditions, ideologies, histories, etc. For example, the letter to the Ephesians talks about acceptance of Gentiles into Christianity more than some other letters, because they was a larger issue in that group. There was a lot of sentiment that Gentiles had no place, as they were not Jewish before Jesus came, and they weren't circumcised, and so on. On to your verse. I Cor 6 v9 lists all these unrighteous traits that shall not inherit the kingdom of God. It lists adulterers, thieves, the greedy, etc. It also says "abusers of themselves with mankind," which is the part most commonly interpreted as about male on male intercourse. Here is the context with verses like these. We see similar ones in other letters (there is another example in Romans), and what I have found really important is that the people that Paul is writing to here have NO history of Christianity, and to some extent, little history of Judaism. Very similar to the teachings on circumcision, these people knew little about what was the baseline in a moral Christian life. The traditions or practices of each group were interfering spiritually, and they did not realize it. Paul used his letters to emphasize the spirit that a Christian should have. For each group, he had to explain what practices in each group were in violation to the morality of a christian. he used examples of people and practices, not to point out inherit sin, but to point out how easily these can lead to sin. it would seem, through Scripture, that being a tax collector is a sin, but in reality, tax collectors were just a really good example of greed. Paul pointed out tax collectors to show a person that everyone knew who might be corrupted with greed. In the "abusers" example above, and through the original Hebrew translation, he was pointing out the only practice of gay sex that was commonly know and reported at that time. Within the Corinthians, and also with the Romans, it was really common for highly ranked men, in politics or in military, to rape young male servants, mostly young teenagers. This was no secret, but it wasn't really addressed as a problem. Paul pointed out that this practice was ungodly, violent, and wrong. He could not have been talking about a modern, consenting gay couple, as these did not exist at this time. The form of gay sex that he was condemning was essentially institutionalized rape of young men by their older masters. many modern Christian leaders interpret now, that an adult, consenting gay couple essentially should follow the same moral restrictions as a straight couple, and that both relationships would be recognized equally by God it would be really easy to discount this explanation with "but Paul just meant that all gay sex is wrong," but all examples of sex being talked about as sinful in the New testament are examples of extramarital sex, (a breach of trust with your spouse), or violent rape of a slave.

When he is going over the Ezekiel reference about Sodom, he neglect the last phrase... 'and did detestable things before me'. The reason is simple: It's a lot easier to obfuscate a Bible passage that contains some elements of mystery that are not immediately obvious such as the Lot story. Or to pick a strawman and conclude that it doesn't condemn hs. Which is pretty much like quoting "You shall not bear false witness." and comment: "See. Where does this condemn murder?" From that they go on to claiming that they have now covered "all" the Bible has to say on that subject (or that other passages needn't be discussed because they're just more of the same) which is, of course, blatantly untrue. Which sums up what these two are doing. However, passages such as Romans, Deuteronomy (and various others) get to the point using simple declarative sentences. Their meaning is a lot harder to explain away. So they remain unaddressed.

To my fellow “Christians” who are leaving hateful comments on this video: Matthew 22: 36-40 [36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law? [37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1 John 2:9-11 9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. 11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. Basically. One thing is needed to get into the kingdom of God. Belief in Jesus as his son, and that he’s taken your sins. The fact that you are using God’s word to hate on pastors that share their interpretations on scripture (which, by the way, i can assure you that all of you read interpretations of the Bible allegedly “every day”) and to hate on people because of who they love is the real blasphemy here. Love God, Love Your Neighbor. Since y’all are “so direct”, let me just point out that there is no “unless” after that scripture. So, if you hate people so much for who they are, there is no need to talk about it, ESPECIALLY in Jesus’s name. That’s blasphemous. Bigots like you people are the reason so many people turn away from or refuse to associate with Christianity. Though we, as Christians should be loving, all we seem to send towards other is judgement and hate. Who do you think you are? Signed, -A 15 Year Old Christian.

That's in the new testament, you can't cherry pick evidence, it paints the entire religion under a coat used in the new testament, you have to take into account the entire book and not just take bits and pieces, not only that but there are many branches of Christianity that each have different explainations on how to reach heaven

Better is open rebuke Than love that is concealed. (Proverbs 27:5) The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. (1 Corinthians 2:15) Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? (Mathew 7:1-3) Yes we are saved by grace through faith but we are not to compromise the truth for the world, but instead refute people who spread lies in a loving way

Be careful listing to anyone that justifies your own lust and desires whatever that may be. I learned this myself in my own church by not reading my Bible and trusting in man. Just like Jesus died for you... you die to him daily. You die to your own desires and seek what Jesus wants in your life. Read your bible daily, pray that Jesus gives you understanding, and spread the gospel to others in need. This world is wicked and Jesus is coming soon. Be prepared and be excited for his return. Be content and you will have peace and love that will fill your heart. Salvation is between you and Christ. It is a personal relationship. God Bless!

"Its important to read the Bible in context." *proceeds to take out of context every quote from the Bible.* "You can't read the Bible literally." *proceeds to interpret Galatians 3:28 literally. (Also out of context.)* People let's not forget that when Satan tempted Jesus he quote Scripture to Him.

A book inspired by a god would not need context. It would be clear and simple and when translated, would be translated perfectly. But that didn't happen so maybe it wasn't inspired by anything other than primitive men wanting to control others.
@God1is1love1
@God1is1love1 2 жыл бұрын
@@joecoolioness6399 1st what leads you to think it would not need context? Everything needs context. So your claim that a book written by God shouldn't need context needs evidence to support it. After all the very first thing Satan did when talking to Eve was to take what God said out of context. Genesis 3:1. 2nd The Bible is very clear on the things that it wants to make very clear. And other areas it leaves ambiguous on purpose. After all it does say that God shames the wise with what seems to be foolish. 1 Corinthians 1:27 and makes wise men's knowledge foolish Isaiah 44:25. And it says that the knowledge of God is like a fragrance of death to those who reject Him. 2 Corinthians 2:16. I know many preachers love to quote 1 Corinthians 14:33 to say that God is not a God of confusion but they take that verse out of its context. That verse was with regard to how the gathering of believers should be done.

I am not sure that Lot offering his daughters to the mob was any more than him trying to shame said mob. Part of the bad manners of the mob was that they wanted Lot to deliberately expel two guests. I would surmise that when you accept guests in your home, then you're also liable to protect them. The mob was asking Lot to violate a very strong social rule. He rightly said "no" to the crowd. When he offered his daughters, I think it might have been another way of saying something like, "Look do you want my daughters? You KNOW I can't give up guests that have entered my home, right? So, would you like family members of mine as an alternative?" Again, I'd guess he was really shaming the mob and that there was no way this guy would truly put his daughters out there. If I am right--and I certainly might not be--it was a shrewd way of telling the mob, "You can't do what you'd like to right now; not gonna happen." To me, that's the 'context' of what this is communicating and context is so important. To realize what a phrase meant in the place and time it was spoken is just one example of how this is important. The mob made an offer to Lot that he could not agree to by asking him to give up his guests. After refusing, Lot then notched it up a bit and made them a counteroffer that the mob could not take. I'd guess that the folks speaking for the mob were thinking something like, "No, we don't want your family members. That would lead to a blood feud. We just want your guests." Anyway, just one perspective, but I enjoy seeing things like this that don't necessarily question validity, but examine what something really meant when it has typically been taken only one way or in limited ways.

@johnr7279

Well, I think the offer was made but was made as an offer that really could not be accepted. I think Lot's point was something along the lines of "You can't have my guests so do you expect me to offer up my own family as a substitute?" I don't really know what actually happened but it just doesn't make sense to me that he'd truly offer up his daughters. I am not sure there are many people anywhere, and especially not from a Middle-Eastern-based honor culture, who would really offer up family. Again, I think this was Lot showing how unreasonable the request was. I just wish we could truly know what really happened. All we can do is to read what was written, consider the times being talked about, anything that helps us see the context, and do our best to interpret. I think there are many things in the Bible that are not necessarily meant to be taken as literally as the words make them sound...can't prove that either of course.

First off, the Bible does say a lot about who God is. Secondly, the Bible does have one definition of marriage. Thirdly, I find it funny that they took the story of Sodom out of context. It wasn't just two men that went into the town. It was two angels in the form of men. Fourthly(?), the Galatians scripture CANNOT be used for a counterpoint for gender identity. The "bathroom" issue is over a physical presence, not a spiritual issue. "There's no man or woman" is meant to reflect on the fact that the soul is what is being saved and redeemed, not the social status.
