Stereotypes ingrained in society tend to be the reason why people fear to change or advocate for change. This makes the majority of society accept current affairs as “the way it is”, despite the potential threats they pose to societal development.
By liberating herself from the jail that societal norms have built around women, especially pretty women, Thao Nhi Le has not only enlightened herself, but also empowered other people on the voyage of finding internal validation. In this talk, she shares her experience as a woman with pretty privileges and the recipe to overcoming social stereotypes. Thao Nhi Le is the first Runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam 2022. She is also the founder/creative director of Daphale Studios and has been working as a fashion/lifestyle content creator for about 10 years. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
