Fully recovered from CFS/ME, lyme, interstitial cystitis, chronic pain, gut issues, and other illnesses I had for 10 years. I am grateful every day. Please do not give up if you are walking this path. Healing is mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. It really is biopsychosocialspiritual. Your body and your life has your answers. It doesn't matter how long it takes - it will take time. Keep going and learn all you need to in order to believe in your body over outdated medical diagnosis that only describe the symptoms and do not understand the roots.

With all respect to Bob and everyone else who finds inspiration in this ...good for you!!! This speech might be inspirational for many people, BUT completely destructive for others. It's like all people who never heal from a chronic illness have to be blamed for not willing to heal. Like, learning to accept living with a disability, is just the reason why someone is and stays disabled. And this not only makes those people feel like it's all their own fault, but also feeds the lack of understanding most people already have about it, something that can be even worse than the disease or disability itself ...even more deadly to some. Depression is not an uncommon factor when people have to learn to live with something they don't want to. I have struggeled a long time with guilt about being disabled because of a chronic disease that causes my spine to fuse like bamboo (some even call it bamboospine), about loosing my job, my house, almost everything and even family and friends because of it. It took years of psychotherapy to accept and learn to live with this powerlessnes. THIS speech and reactions almost take me back again to feeling like I don't deserve to be alive, good thing that therapy has made me stronger, otherwise it would've inspired me to do something ...but I won't write that word, I hope that others won't.
@frankbelin15904 жыл бұрын
And I have to add, THANK YOU so much, Remy Lebeau, for your comment! While I was going through the reactions, I only saw so many positive reactions. I almost had no courage to write my comment above, like I would only look like the most 'negative person' doing so, even though I felt like I had to! You gave me that courage Sir! And I'm sure it matters, for so many others, too!

For anyone who is struggling with accepting and letting go of what they cannot control when it comes to being diagnosed with a chronic progressive illness - i know what it's like, I've been there too. 8 months ago I received a diagnosis and was on my death bed, and although my prognosis still isn't great, I do have hope and a little bit more faith in my life. It was a battle to get where I am now but I am excited to start my journey through this youtube channel in 2024 and bring light into others dark time. This is the community I needed when I was first recovering, or trying to wrap my head around everything- hope you'll join me and be a part of something that has not been done before - we will liberate each other to health which is very much the same kind of concept talked about in this video.

You are right. Many people with chronic illnesses do not get better, which is difficult thing to accept, but is very important to acknowledge as a reality. Many of us have progressive illnesses that do NOT respond to excellent lifestyle recommendations alone. I think that people who DO respond to lifestyle recommendations alone will find it difficult to believe that not everyone's bodies respond the same.

This resonates with me, because I too refused to accept my "chronic" as anything but temporary and fixable. I fixed my PTSD, depression and anxiety, I haven't had bipolar highs and lows anymore despite no medication for it anymore, and 3 days ago my fibromyalgia "fell asleep" after almost 20 years of pain. I don't dare to cheer yet, but I just know in my core belief that my fibromyalgia and my insomnia is not a forever thing and the feeling I've had the past 3 days of no nerve pain for the first time in almost 20 years is very similar to what it felt like when my PTSD went quiet and went away. It's like a long rainstorm that finally stopped and sunshine is very close to break through the clouds and you are so used to the noise of the rain that suddenly the quiet seems loud. I'm quite excited. :) Just because doctors don't have a pill for it doesn't mean that it's hopeless. What helped me? Making life my top priority and connect back with nature eating foods that grow out of the ground such as potatoes and carrots, less processed stuff and just started stretching to try to break through the stiffness. I worked on lowering inflammation and increase amino acids that is crucial in the diet to be used and converted into functions. And, meditation for getting aligned emotionally. Oh and better posture habits. I also strictly reduced social media use to lower stress and basically was on a media consumption diet on only positive intake. Anything that brought stress was cut out.

Hi Sravya, The best thing I did for myself was my own research and then going to see a functional medicine doctor. Functional medicine doctors look for the root cause of the disease to find out why your body is attacking itself. They will test all vitamin levels and help you with leaky gut if needed. Also read Wahls Protocol by Dr Terry Wahl. I went on a strict paleo diet. No gluten, dairy, legumes, or sugar. I ate meat, vegetables, fruit, and sweet potatoes only. Hope this helps!!

Not sure I've cried tears of pure joy in my life until you started playing. Was dx'd 11 years ago and have ever so slowly been declining since. Lately though, through personal growth and a new relationship with God, I've begun to feel like I can heal myself. This is what led me to your talk. Your playing felt my confirmation that I can do it. God bless and you thank you for sharing.

@jonassantos4037 Jonas, I'm doing really well. I got very into meditation around this time, and it truly changed my life. Specifically, in the last 6-9months, I've gained a new perspective on my healing. I've stopped taking the 3 daily medications I took for years to help with my symptoms, and I feel better than ever. Physically, I'm not quite 100%, but emotionally, i feel whole and mentally, I'm shaper and more focused on what matters than ever. I'm even writing a book about it, which is wild because writing a book has been a dream of mine for a decade or longer. How are you?

Thank you for writing this. I mean, I'm happy for the guy and I do believe that the mental health is a huge factor, but sometimes you just don't get better. And these kinds of stories always make me feel like I'm less then for not getting better. And I think most people see things that way. That I should just be able to heal myself and that I'm doing something wrong if I can't.

Most people taking Avonex have a significant decrease in lesion number. We don’t know however as he didn’t get an MRI following the 4 years after he stopped.

Ms here too, I am still bed ridden but I understood what caused it. Prior to the sudden symptoms, I did yoga, ate a healthy vegan diet, chanted mantras, did meditation and exercise outdoor regularly. No coffee, no alcohol, no cigarettes and no drugs. I should have been the healthiest woman on the planet, right? But I was terribly depressed, enraged with the system, with people taking advantage of the most vulnerable. Basically, life is a mirror of how we feel and what we believe. My immune system attacked me! I was sending vibrations of fear and anger and it responded appropriately. I actually reached a point where I really wanted to give up and die but my life has been saved. Now, over two years after my hospitalization, I learned a lot about myself. At first, I didn't want to accept the situation but it gradually became clear that I was not in charge. My higher self kept telling me to be peaceful and not to worry. Basically, I have had a total reset of my belief system - still in progress! There's nothing I can do to change the situation so I just need to have faith and approach life differently and what I need and want is already on its way to me. I'm in Cambodia, thank the Divine, so I didn't receive any invasive treatment and hid those huge antibiotics they gave me inside a pillow. I have been hospitalized three times for major operations in my life and I promised myself never to let myself being operated upon again. Dreams don't last forever after all, I am done here!

"NOTE FROM TED: Please do not look to this talk for medical advice" ..please listen to your doctor who will tell you your diseases are incurable and youre doomed to live a miserable life of disability or dependance on medication. This man is amazing and people like him are the ones to look to for inspiration and evidence that we know very little about the human body and conventional methods of so called treatment are not the ideal way to cure the body.

So to everyone out there who is also on a healing journey right now: It’s ups and downs, do not fear, trust the process, stay strong, you will get there and YOU ARE NOT ALONE! 🫶

I am so happy for him! And his recommendations are great. However, please understand that not all bodies respond so thoroughly to lifestyle recommendations alone. Not all bodies are the same. Please understand that many people with chronic illness do not return to their prior functioning despite following excellent lifestyle recommendations. Not everyone is as fortunate as this speaker, and I urge those with chronic illnesses to NOT feel like they just "didn't try hard enough" if their condition continues or progresses. It's ok if you must learn to live alongside illness and accept limitations.

This is very inspirational. My wife, with multiple health problems (diabetes, asthma, celiac disease, severe eczema, severe histamine intolerance, collagenous colitis) is the best researcher I know. She's discovered ways to cure MS, too. This is important to us because we have 3 children with MS (of 7 total). What we've learned is there are 4 types of MS. Our 2 sons with it have the same type, which I think is the most common. Our eldest daughter has a very rare kind. It's frustrating, however, that each of the 3 are still in the invincible mode, though 2 of them are ~40. They aren't listening to their mother, who really does know best...
