Years later from 2018, fasting is highly recommended. So he was definitely ahead of his time and science!!

It's a little bit like many French people are eating. They only eat three times a day. Nothing, literally no snacks in between and nothing outside those fixed meals. And those meals are no fast foods but very healthy choices. Because they value healthy, fresh vegetables and fruits and meat. Quality before quantity.

I lost 20 kg in 3 months, 1st month:10 kg, 2nd month: 5 kg, 3rd month: 5 kg. In 4th month due to some medical issue(abdominal surgery) i stopped my dieting and exercise for 2 months. After these 2 months my weight gain is 2 kg. I eat alot in these 2 months but weight gain is very less. Actually my food was same during my dieting but i focused on changing my eating habits. So please at first check your current eating habits then change them just little bit, you will get a big change. For exercise, 1.5 hour walking before dinner and half hour before sleeping can give you great results within a month. Thanks.

The idea has been propagated by Dr Jagannath Dixit from 2012-13. Originally conceived by Late Dr Shrikant Jichakar, a great personality. This is the only physiological way to lose weight in the right way. Hats off to Dr Jichakar and the crusader against obesity Dr Jagannath Dixit.

And the best part is....this works! Whether you do a one meal a day (OMAD) or limit eating to a 4-8 hour window, as long as you eat healthy, whole foods (I mainly eat meat) you won't be hungry. Hunger is 99% a learned behaviour when it comes to the really rumbling 'hangry' feeling. The little twinges in your stomach can be overcome with water. I'm pretty much OMAD or even go the Breakfast on Monday...supper on Tuesday route. Lost quite a bit of of weight, feel great, don't feel hungry, sleep VERY well @ 67 yo. Should have done this years ago. My hard and fast rule: if the 'food' comes into your vehicle window via a paper sack or plastic bag...I don't eat it, hands down. Can be done! When I started, results came in on a daily basis.

Did this for a few months, lost weight fast and got shredded. Started doing chest days which led to binge eating so I wouldn’t recommend for everyone

It all boils down to calories still. Intermittent fasting only help to creat that caloric deficit

But it is a tool that makes it easier for people to create a calorie deficit.

Plus - a fasting state is a lot more conducive to weight loss. Not to mention the fact that there's a lot of additional health benefits. There's a lot of people out there who have no need to lose weight, but still practice intermittent fasting for the health advantages.
@lindalove71934 жыл бұрын
@@Andy-SwingDJ Not really, you still eat your daily calories. I did 20-1 for 4 months, exercised 1 hour a day, and did not lose anything. It didn't work for me.
@davidgild37794 жыл бұрын
@@lindalove7193 there is so much science that supports fasting in all its various forms. That doesn't mean specific individuals can't have hormonal or other issues interfering with the results. But all things being equal, it's giving your body a much deserved break from constant metabolic processing. It reduces insulin sensitivity and blood pressure and hence reduces lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. It improves sleep, repairs and rejuvenates cells and tissues and there are a number of long term studies trying to prove that it potentially adds several years to your life.
@davidgild37794 жыл бұрын
Also, it is certainly possible to fast and still eat a calorie surplus! You can do it easily with fast food and sweet beverages. Caloric density is important whether you fast or not.
@lindalove71934 жыл бұрын
Fasting did not work for me. I started the way he instructed and graduated to 20-1 hours for 4 months. I ate the same required calories. I didn't lose weight. I just had bloodwork done and maybe there's something wrong with my thyroid.

I tried intermittent fasting but used to get severe acidity. Any tips what I was doing wrong
@cb52842 жыл бұрын
1. Change fasting window like if you are fasting in the morning, try doing it in the evening or vice versa 2. Eat clean-include more fruits and veggies in your diet 3. Take regular and good amount of sleep 4. Take some antacid in the beginning. Any side effects of IF usually lasts till first 3-4 weeks, until your body adjusts with your changes.

Breakfast is an important meal so can we skip dinner? Skipping dinner is easy then skipping breakfast?
@cbrcoder6 жыл бұрын
Rather then skipping dinner (which can cause sleep disorders) how about taking early dinner. You can still complete 16h if you have dinner and 5 and then breakfast at 9am!
