Unconscious bias and lack of racial diversity in visual representation causes damage in schools, communities, workplaces and places of worship across the globe. It creates a divide between those who see themselves as empowered, and those who don’t. What steps can we take to begin to address this issue? A junior at Edina High School, Olivia Pierce likes to write music, run track, read, and paint. Bold without fear on stage, she is also an actor and sees a future for herself as a pediatrician. As a Christian, Olivia tries to live out her faith actively every day and show God’s love to others through her actions. As a civil rights activist, Olivia is working to ensure that all people can have their voices heard and respected. . This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

@@andrewgotti589 (63) Now, there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works-a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was [the] Christ; (64) and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him, for he appeared to them alive again the third day, as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him; and the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day. This historical document written by a Jewish historian who lived during the time of Jesus, says otherwise.

I didn't watch the entire video, just skimmed through it, but the fact is that Christianity is neither European or African, it's Middle Eastern in origin. Christianity, at it's very core, is just a subset of Judaism. Christianity is only seen as European because the whole of Europe is Christian and it spread across the world via European colonizers, but it still doesn't change the fact that it's a Middle Eastern origin religion.

There are 2500 deities, in the world, that are called gods; and 4200 different religions. Question. Why do people have a desire to worship a deity? Even those who say there is no God! It’s because inside every person, their conscience, bear witness that God exist. Question. What God is the true god? Every religion except one; people gods requires them to earn their acceptance or blessing. But the God of the Bible, said to mankind; in order for them to be accepted, their sins debt must be paid in full! But it was impossible for mankind to pay sins price, because sins price was eternal death. But God so love mankind, he came to die on a cross in order to pay mankind’s sins. (John 3:16). So Christianity is not a white men religion! But a who so ever believes in Jesus Christ religion! Just because some may misrepresent Christianity; we can’t throw out the baby with the bath water!

I thought it was about animal idols If we want to interpret it as you did it means artists are sinning since they paint birds and animals and humans. @@akaryyeb2717 the issue is that people pray to icons, saying they pray to God through them which is obviously false, The Lord is with us everywhere and everytime, icons are useless, artists draw or paint stuff for people to admire and appreciate, not to pray to, indeed He said not on earth, land and sky, this refers to idols which again, like the golden calf, or the Mary statues you see all around, are meant for praying to which is obviously completely against the second Commandment

One way to change the perceptions is more diversity in the mission field, not just with images, but with more participation from those of diverse backgrounds. One such group that has done an outstanding job in this is Korean Christians. As a mostly white Christian, I am actually embarrassed that there are missionaries coming to the United States from another country that to do something that American Christians of all races should be doing. I have known a few of these including a Korean pastor that opened a church for Latino Christians. American Christians, we need to do better and I include myself in this.

We must not forget, that Christianity was born in the Middle East and quickly spread to Africa in the first centuries. The most important and influential names in the Christian history of the first centuries were Africans, such as Clement, Cyril, Athanasius, Origen and Augustine. The African tradition was of great importance in the formation of Christian theology. Read the book Thomas Oden - How Africa Shaped the Christian Mind, he addresses this topic.

I think it's very arrogant that so many of us think God is worried about what we think. It's funny that we're arrogant enough to even think we can perceive God only through religion. I think religion is what keeps us from truly connecting to God. I grew up in the church. It took me a long time to realize that religion is a business and one of them's been on top for a long time and it's kind of falling apart because of technology. Most people who run the tech business are not religious and that's what's causing this Awakening because technology is the industry that's changing the face of the planet. I believe there is a spark behind the Big bang but it's so advanced that my heart tells me not to even perceive myself as important enough to try to understand any of that. I am merely a small tiny little creature living in a speck of time. We are all connected as humans. We are All One creature broken into several pieces. We have to start thinking with our hearts and not let the words of men distract us. I've been on this journey for a long time and I'm quite comfortable speaking my ideas. I believe God is trying to show us that we've been lied to by religions and held back by them. We have to be careful that these new technology elites don't create a new one because if they do it's going to oppress us like never before. For the first time technology and religion and government could be consolidated into one thing. It will be virtually inescapable without great knowledge and great numbers. I see it also clearly around me. Quite honestly I think that something is guiding me. I look at my parents and the other people who taught me religion and I see how lost and confused they are. How sad they are inside. Religion just keeps the poor poor. Many They think they can just pray everything away instead of taking care of business. They claim they believe in Jesus the pacifist who turns the other cheek but then they let violence live in their hearts as they collect their weapons for war. They have been tricked into thinking they are fighting a spiritual battle when really they are the army of the elites. The army they will send into battle against their own people. What we refer to as God is so advanced and beautiful yet we rely on stories that other men have given us and trust that none of them have ever been altered and trust that they are the absolute truth even though they've been passed around for centuries by many men. Men are liars. Why would I trust that? I think the truth is inside of us all. It's hard to find the truth when you're distracted by luxury and the illusion of safety but not all of us have that luxury. When you were down in the gutter constantly because of your situation and upbringing or whatever you're forced to think and ponder. Perhaps I was put under pressure all these years for a reason. Who knows. There are a lot of good people that are religious and a lot of them have helped me out but they always try to brainwash me in the process. It's so obvious they're just cogs in the machine and they don't even know it. It's time to awaken. I think revelation IS coming but I don't think it's the revelation many believe will happen. We are awakening from a very long slumber. I believe we are spiritual beings and that there is a great source or God behind it all but we aren't meant to use cults and tribes to connect to that. I believe that All you need is within you.

Where can I find the ORIGINAL Scrolls of the Scriptures? Instead of the King James VERSION. Also no-one on this forum,"please" do not reply back to me in negativity response. I only want to know where I could find the original Scriptures🙋🏾‍♀️

Last Days the original scriptures weren't written in English but rather Greek but if you want to have a go at reading them there's an app called septuaginta where you can read the new testament in the original Greek.

Well you can't really find the OG works of a lot of in ancient history lol examples Tactius works, Contemporary sources on Alexander the great etc that's not an argument besides we have NT Manuscripts that are very close to the times of when the NT was being worked on in the 1st century

'Why Christianity is perceived as the white man's religion | Olivia Pierce |' The 'Why' is a metaphysical question. Because an answer can open on a constellation of 'why'. Thus, the issue is less to know why Christianity is perceived as the white man's religion and more about what the white man has done and do with Christianity? For, if being is becoming, the truth of being is the becoming of truth.
