He is very much onto something. His idea of critical thinking being the next step in evolution is something I share, however, he needs to use his critical thinking to recognize that some do not, and perhaps even a majority of us, start life at the same level of intelligence for us to put that critical thinking ahead of everything else. In fact, I see it as the next step in the evolution of human consciousness. We are not as aware of our thoughts and emotions as we think we are, as he explained with confirmation bias and wanting to feel good by justifying eating ice cream. We have better awareness of ourselves and our environment to put us ahead of all species, but we're still animals with core primitive instincts of survival that control our thoughts and emotions at a genetic and epigenetic level.

All said in a very nice and understandable way but human beings will always be who they are because of how they were raised. Critical thinking should be taught at a young age so the human race can evolve and become better and stronger

You’re right on the money! Logic is one of the first subjects that should be compulsory on every curriculum, and it doesn’t even feature in most pre-University ‘philosophy’ courses. You could say that this is because there aren’t enough teachers to teach it, and you’d be right. But this is maintained by the fact that the governments of the world don’t want to incentivise the teaching of critical thinking in early education. If they did, we’d have said teachers. It necessarily follows that we ask why the governments are not incentivising the teaching of logic and critical reasoning as a compulsory subject. Cui bono? Well, it certainly does not benefit the generations upon generations who grow up unable to think for themselves. They may disagree with this, but that’s precisely because they have been conditioned to do so without having a say in the matter. However, it would certainly benefit a government if its main objective is to keep the public easy to control, limit the information that they are able to understand so that everyone turns a blind eye to any potential corruption occurring at the highest echelons (and there’s plenty of historical evidence for this being expected from the top of a human social structure).

I just can't stand the way he talks and moves his extremely dry mouth chewing an imaginary piece of jerky. Jesus Christ I had to stop the video several times to take a breath and relax. This over-intense look from a white-label Ryan Gosling is just not for me.
