NOW, we have to make the natural/holistic treatments insurable. If we are removing the drugs, insurance should pay for naturopathic doctors, supplements paid for if prescribed by a physician.

We need more doctors like her to practice integrative medicine. Doctors should should dig and look deeply into a patients illness and how did they get sick to begin with. But most importantly, people have to do their part and begin to look at their lifestyle. There are so much distraction around us, not just technologies, but also emotional stress like anger, jealousy, unwortininess, frustration, depression, and meaninglessness. All of these play major role in our life and have tremendous effect in our life. When we're not happy, our cells are not happy. So, all of our emotional stress cause anxiety that they have to go somewhere, and where do they go? In our body!! So, pay attention, it just make good sense that we have to be aware and stay conscious of what we're thinking, feeling, eating, and acting!! ^~^

I really appreciate Mimi Guarneri's holistic / preventive / functional medical approach ... it addresses the real foundations of health. It's also shocking to hear the figures on how many billions "health" (=disease) care costs in the U.S. We all want to reduce the enormous expenditures and relieve the heavy financial burden on individual patients, businesses and government ... don't we? Think of the billions we would save! Yes? The one little consideration that Mimi doesn't address is that if we implement these sane, less-intrusive approaches that aren't based on expensive drugs and high-tech tools ... somebody would LOSE OUT on billions of dollars in profits! It isn't enough to show people how much money goes to health care, or the percentage of the national economy it eats up, to make the system change. Good health is not good for the medical industry. I sort-of doubt that Pfizer or Eli Lilly or Medtronic would say "yes, now that we know about diet and stress reduction and sleep and loving relationships and acupuncture, we should stop pushing all of these expensive products." Wish she would address that not-so-hidden side of "health" care a little more directly.

WHY would the medical industry want us to save billions and trillions of dollars? There are no profits to be made from healthy people. I certainly appreciate Mimi's sensible, integrative holistic approach ... but it's naive to think that all we have to do is explain this to the drug manufacturers and hospitals and pharmacy chains and they'll all say Wow, why didn't we think of this before?
