Fourth Estate 2.0 | KAVYA BUDHIRAJA | TEDxGIBS

In the era wherein most media houses function to earn hefty profits, it becomes crucial to keep a check and balance upon this fourth pillar of democracy, amidst issues like misinterpretation of law, media trials, the TRP game, publishing misleading headlines, etc. The talk answers to the question as to who can keep a check on the media. Participative democracy is the need of the hour which could possibly be achieved by educating people around us.
Ms. Kavya, she is the alumni of GIBS 17-22 batch. She iscurrently pursuing her LLM from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. She worked as the Advocate General for the state of Uttarakhand in the Supreme Court. She is the Honorary member of Cyber Jagrithi & Safety Foundation (NGO). She also published her article on newspaper pertaining to law, religion etc. and handled weekly legal pages- “vidhik”. She is an academic scholar of her batch with various roles and responsibilities like Campus Ambassador for Bar Council of All India Reporter, Student Editor for College digest. She is the winner of National Moot Court Competition for 3 consecutive years. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. My personal opinion is in democratic country the government is elected by the majority of the people. So what about the minority of the people. The media should take the responsibility of the minority for reflection of their rights and views properly which would satisfy humanity as a whole which might be called justice in the real sense. While I admire Kavya, I highly disagree with her when she proclaims that the people of India gave themselves the constitution of India. The constitution of India was given by a minority of individuals, some, such a Nehru, with a great disdain for Bharat's ancient culture, an inferiority complex, embedded bias against SANATAN DHARMA and misplaced admiration for everything english.

Being the first prime minister of India, allowed him to set the tone. India still has not stepped out from that! Also, the committee drafting the constitution needed approval from the remainder of the congress party before the constitution was implemented. Do you honestly think that nehru did not have any input! Ambedkar himself rued the fact that a beautiful constitution was in the hands of incapable fools. Look it up. Also, nehru was not the choice for prime minister. he was given this despite his incapability, which cost India dearly, over Sardar Patel. AND, at the end of the day, I am still RIGHT. The constitution of India was given my a minority of individuals, including nehru. At the end of the day, it was the congress party that gave India its constitution. Where did I mention that the constitution of India was drafted by nehru. I never spoke about those that drafted the constitution. Pay attention to what I said. Like the congress party, you cannot see the bigger picture. DO YOU KNOW THAT GANDHI RESISTED ENDING THE CASTE SYSTEM??? DO YOU KNOW THAT GANDHI DID NOT WANT INDIA TO INDUSTRIALIZE? EDUCATE YOURSELF. I USE TO ADMIRE GANDHI, NEHRU, RAJIV AND INDIRA UNTIL I LEARNED THE TRUTH ABOUT THEM. SOUNDS LIKE YOU STILL NEED TO LEARN THE TRUTH!!!
