Businesses with female leaders are 50% more profitable, yet most companies are not tapping into this gold mine.
In this TEDx talk Mahdis Gharaei reveals a compelling case that forward thinking organisations can’t afford to ignore: the immense potential of women in leadership and the competitive advantage of diversity in business.
This talk is suitable for any business leader and HR decision-maker ready to break down the barriers to women’s advancements in the workplace, eager to win in the war for (female) talent. As the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of the global career platform "the female factor" Mahdis shows simple solutions to the most common obstacles in setting up diverse leadership teams. Mahdis is the co-founder & CEO of the female factor, a career platform dedicated to empowering & developing a new generation of female leaders by providing knowledge-driven experiences around personal & professional development, a global mentoring program and a strong network in over 75 countries.
Before starting the female factor, Mahdis served as one of the youngest and only female general managers of an international airline in Austria and Germany for over 7 years and led cross-border projects and teams in the Middle East, Europe and the US. She co-founded her first business at age 23 and also served in leadership roles at non-profit organisations such as the World Affairs Council, AustrianStartups and Female Founders.
Mahdis is a passionate opportunity maker, diversity advocate, entrepreneur, mentor, podcast host and speaker with a love for business development, sales, negotiations, female leadership and diversity & inclusion. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

May b good to re-examine your thoughts as your fears, up-bringing and lack of respect for women are reflected from some …. ! OR perhaps you are so out of touch w reality, that have not thought before writing!!! Great speaker, topic, and delivery! Priceless - ♥️♥️♥️ Cheers

Mahdis I am very proud of you for delivering this talk so well and I loved the sense of humour you weaved throughout this talk. It's a very timely talk and very needed as some of the comments have proven; there is huge interest and encouragement with practical steps on how to create more diverse and profitable companies. I had the honour of helping Mahdis create this powerful talk and everything she said is backed by research papers and reports from some of the top companies in the world. TED only invite legitimate experts who can prove their points backed with evidence on their stage.

"50% of business with women leaders are more profitable" what... Does this even mean, or entail? Amazon is extremely profitable but it actually loses money on alot of it's ventures and is so profitable due to how poorly it treats its employees. Like, if you abused your employees, didn't pay them anything, and therefore all the profit margins went higher than McDonald's, though it's profitable is it ethical to actually partake in a business venture? You can't use a random vague statistic no actual background as to why this is the case, or what businesses you're specifically looking at. Like you could be looking at AMD vs Intel and claim that a woman lead business is 35% more profitable! But the majority of the Drs staff is male??? Confusing.

There are a number of metrics one could pick to distinguish good and bad leaders. Profitability is not a bad one. It's not a "random vague statistic" and you should really try harder to make your counter argument. It's a separate discussion if we as a society should value profit over people, as you write in your very vague critique.

I don't know the statistic but 1 reason a women led business might we perform better is, a women might need to put perform men by a significant margin to be in a post of ceo. This would lead to significant difference in skills between a counterpart male ceo. Ceo of amd for example. Only 4% of the company have female ceo but the counter argument is they might be better compared to the average ceo if they are that good.

That's not actually how anything works, Male leaders are no different than Female leaders in terms of performance and value. The value comes with nepotism, networking, and debts owed. Typically all of these avenues were "manned" by Men. So we ended up with more Males in Leadership roles even after feminism swept across the culture during the 90's and began to rise significantly in the early 2000's. Even with the PinkWave women in STEM positions and Leadership roles never materialized and it wasn't in any part due to their suppression. They simply didn't turn out. There's no networks, or family allowances, or long term unwritten debts Woman can leverage to achieve the vulnerable positions in most major corporations. Because that's what leadership roles really are. A vulnerable position that needs defending between the owners, board, and employees. What woman like this seem to want, doesn't even exist to have. You can't work your way up to these roles. You are chosen for these roles, much in the same way marriages between noble houses were arranged. It's has nothing to do with your value, and everything to do with your Family, Network, or Debts owed.
