What Happens When Art Meets AI? | Benedikte Wallace | TEDxArendal

Benedikte Wallace is a Ph.D. researcher at the RITMO Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies of Rhythm, Time and Motion at the University of Oslo. Her interest lie in the cross-section between art and science.
Through her research, Benedikte seeks answers to how artificial intelligence can be used as a tool for pursuing and understanding creativity. Listen and observe what happens when creativity, math, art and science meet each other to create something new and different: an AI dancer. Benedikte Wallace is a Ph.D. researcher at the RITMO Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies of Rhythm, Time and Motion at the University of Oslo. She has a background in music production and a MSc in Informatics. Wallace’s interests lie in the cross-section between art and science.
Her research is centered around exploring sound-motion mappings with 3D motion capture, generative machine learning, and the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) as a tool for pursuing and understanding creativity. Artificial Intelligence wasn't initially applied to art as a creator but as an impersonator. The technique is called style transfer and it uses deep neural networks to replicate, recreate and blend styles of artwork, by teaching the AI to understand existing pieces of art.🥰🥰🥰✌✌✌

This is not helpful. Artists already gets help and work with their softwares and computers. Computers are efficients but they are not effective. Some eleven months later AI can actually make "art" whitout humans (depending on your defination of art) You just let the some word making AI give words to an artmaking AI, and voila; no need for humans at all!
