Why don’t you pay respects to the White man’s science, medicine, technology that have improved and lengthened your life (and all of your relatives) and every aspect of it. Why can’t you say a simple “thanks”?
@mooonflower Жыл бұрын
Have you ever thanked West Asians for algebra and complex math? Have you ever thanked African Americans for creating the technological innovations and calculations to get humanity in orbit and then to the moon for the first time? Have you ever thanked Native Americans for discovering medicines that have cured and treated many of the worst diseases humanity has faced? Why are white contributions the only ones that deserve recognition?

If you live in Predominately white nation you have or deal with white beauty standards. Whites wouldn’t expect to move to Japan, Nigeria or Columbia and expect those nations to change their beauty standards.

But yet in some nations that aren't colonised by westerners white beauty standards are thriving there. I know in Korea and India bleaching products for skin are heavily promoted because anyone darker is considered undesirable, if you aren't skinny or don't have a smaller nose still the same thing, white peoples definition of beauty has seeped into a lot of the world and which she is saying we need to decolonise the idea of what beauty is.

@@travisking2341 Absolutely and even plastic surgery to "westernize" features. "Whites" move and pervade many cultures and hold up their ideals as the standard of beauty. This was a great talk thank you Sasha for your powerful words.

There's a lot of representation of white beauty standards in media, cinematography especially.
