If it constantly gives you an error just go back into nimbus and swap it to the Nintendo servers then go back to Pretendo servers and then try to link it again. It should work

I used to get that same error, what I did, is I logged into Pretendo on my PC, and then linked it to my 3DS once logged in on my PC.

You don’t have to. Through Nimbus, once you switch from Nintendo to Pretendo, you just have to link your PNID instead of NNID.

Try opening the NNID menu again or try switching to Nintendo then Pretendo servers. If that doesn't work you can log out of your NNID using GM9.

Nintendo Login Servers are still up so you can still easily use it up to this day, only the Online Lobby Servers etc. are down.

Switched my 3DS to Pretendo servers, made a Pretendo Network ID... Do I need a console with no NNID linked to it? Also the bottom screen in the NNID settings is slightly glitchy (System version 11.16.0-49E) (Edit: Just had to switch from Pretendo to Nintendo and back to Pretendo)
